DOWNLOAD EBOOKThis book is the first comprehensive treatment of Painlevé differential equations in the complex plane. Starting with a rigorous presentation for the meromorphic nature of their solutions, the Nevanlinna theory will be applied to offer a detailed exposition of growth aspects and value distribution of Painlevé transcendents. The subsequent main part of the book is devoted to topics of classical background such as representations and expansions of solutions, solutions of special type like rational and special transcendental solutions, Bäcklund transformations and higher order analogues, treated separately for each of these six equations. The final chapter offers a short overview of applications of Painlevé equations, including an introduction to their discrete counterparts. Due to the present important role of Painlevé equations in physical applications, this monograph should be of interest to researchers in both mathematics and physics and to graduate students interested in mathematical physics and the theory of differential equations.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKDifferential Equations are very important tools in Mathematical Analysis. They are widely found in mathematics itself and in its applications to statistics, computing, electrical circuit analysis, dynamical systems, economics, biology, and so on. Recently there has been an increasing interest in and widely-extended use of differential equations and systems of fractional order (that is, of arbitrary order) as better models of phenomena in various physics, engineering, automatization, biology and biomedicine, chemistry, earth science, economics, nature, and so on. Now, new unified presentation and extensive development of special functions associated with fractional calculus are necessary tools, being related to the theory of differentiation and integration of arbitrary order (i.e., fractional calculus) and to the fractional order (or multi-order) differential and integral equations. This book provides learners with the opportunity to develop an understanding of advancements of special functions and the skills needed to apply advanced mathematical techniques to solve complex differential equations and Partial Differential Equations (PDEs). Subject matters should be strongly related to special functions involving mathematical analysis and its numerous applications. The main objective of this book is to highlight the importance of fundamental results and techniques of the theory of complex analysis for differential equations and PDEs and emphasizes articles devoted to the mathematical treatment of questions arising in physics, chemistry, biology, and engineering, particularly those that stress analytical aspects and novel problems and their solutions. Specific topics include but are not limited to Partial differential equations Least squares on first-order system Sequence and series in functional analysis Special functions related to fractional (non-integer) order control systems and equations Various special functions related to generalized fractional calculus Operational method in fractional calculus Functional analysis and operator theory Mathematical physics Applications of numerical analysis and applied mathematics Computational mathematics Mathematical modeling This book provides the recent developments in special functions and differential equations and publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed book chapters in the area of nonlinear analysis, ordinary differential equations, partial differential equations, and related applications.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKThe theory of complex functions is a strikingly beautiful and powerful area of mathematics. Some particularly fascinating examples are seemingly complicated integrals which are effortlessly computed after reshaping them into integrals along contours, as well as apparently difficult differential and integral equations, which can be elegantly solved using similar methods. To use them is sometimes routine but in many cases it borders on an art. The goal of the book is to introduce the reader to this beautiful area of mathematics and to teach him or her how to use these methods to solve a variety of problems ranging from computation of integrals to solving difficult integral equations. This is done with a help of numerous examples and problems with detailed solutions.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKI - Entire functions of several complex variables constitute an important and original chapter in complex analysis. The study is often motivated by certain applications to specific problems in other areas of mathematics: partial differential equations via the Fourier-Laplace transformation and convolution operators, analytic number theory and problems of transcen dence, or approximation theory, just to name a few. What is important for these applications is to find solutions which satisfy certain growth conditions. The specific problem defines inherently a growth scale, and one seeks a solution of the problem which satisfies certain growth conditions on this scale, and sometimes solutions of minimal asymp totic growth or optimal solutions in some sense. For one complex variable the study of solutions with growth conditions forms the core of the classical theory of entire functions and, historically, the relationship between the number of zeros of an entire function f(z) of one complex variable and the growth of If I (or equivalently log If I) was the first example of a systematic study of growth conditions in a general setting. Problems with growth conditions on the solutions demand much more precise information than existence theorems. The correspondence between two scales of growth can be interpreted often as a correspondence between families of bounded sets in certain Frechet spaces. However, for applications it is of utmost importance to develop precise and explicit representations of the solutions.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKFunctions of a complex variable are used to solve applications in various branches of mathematics, science, and engineering. Functions of a Complex Variable: Theory and Technique is a book in a special category of influential classics because it is based on the authors' extensive experience in modeling complicated situations and providing analytic solutions. The book makes available to readers a comprehensive range of these analytical techniques based upon complex variable theory. Advanced topics covered include asymptotics, transforms, the Wiener-Hopf method, and dual and singular integral equations. The authors provide many exercises, incorporating them into the body of the text. Audience: intended for applied mathematicians, scientists, engineers, and senior or graduate-level students who have advanced knowledge in calculus and are interested in such subjects as complex variable theory, function theory, mathematical methods, advanced engineering mathematics, and mathematical physics.
