Winner of the Tiptree Award and a Mythopoeic Award finalist, Cloud & Ashes is a slow whirlwind of language, a button box of words, a mythic fable that invites revisitation. Praise for Cloud & Ashes: "A rich poetic prose laden with fetching archaisms that's unlike anything else being written today. Brilliant and truly innovative fiction, not to be missed."—The Washington Times Greer Gilman is the author of Moonwise. A graduate of Wellesley and the University of Cambridge, she lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She likes to quip that she does everything James Joyce ever did, only backward and in high heels.

Surviving the winter is only half the battle... At the height of a brutal Canadian winter, the world as everyone knew it, came crashing down to leave the survivors reeling in the ashes of their fallen nation. A resilient sales manager, Derek Moss never thought he'd lead the defense of a remote ranch in Northern Ontario. But when Cecelie, a small-time politician turned warlord, and her raiders assault the people in the small town of Whitefish, it's up to Derek to protect it-or watch his friends and family in the small town of Whitefish die. In the now distant city of Sudbury, Derek's longtime friend, Daniel must protect a small group of survivors huddling to survive in the ruined City Hall or starve to death as the heat fails and supplies run out. And in High Falls, Daniel's brother Garrett must keep his people from becoming the very raiders he defended them from...

Shortlisted for Cricket Book of the Year at the British Sports Book Awards Graeme Swann leads us on a compelling adventure through one of world sport's most engrossing rivalries. He knows as much as anybody about the heat of England v Australia battles, having played in three series wins and also the whitewash defeat of 2013-14 when its intensity ended his international career. However, it brought out some of his best displays in Test cricket. But he is just one of dozens of colourful characters to have added their chapters to this great tome. The mock obituary of English cricket in the Sporting Times of 1882 was the forerunner of summers and winters of heaven and hell, depending on which side of the divide you were situated. When it comes to on-field relations nothing quite compares to the over-my-dead-body feel of the Ashes. From Grace to Sir Don, the most graceful of them all. From the foulest play to the fairest - contrast the 1932-33 Bodyline series affair to the image of Andrew Flintoff hunched over a distraught Brett Lee in 2005. From Ray Illingworth's famous walk-off in the Seventies, when an England team-mate was assaulted by a spectator, to Steve Waugh's hugely emotional lap of honour when he retired a quarter of a century later. Swann's book will reveal the magic of a series that first gripped him in his front room in Northampton as an aspiring spin bowler in the mid-1980s.

'Freddie' Flintoff is perhaps the best-known cricketer in the world, and definitely the most loved in the UK. Widely considered the greatest English all-rounder since Ian Botham, bars at cricket grounds immediately empty the moment he approaches the wicket. It was victory in the 2005 Ashes series that cemented Flintoff's place at the nation's heart, with his stunning performances helping ensure the Ashes were regained for the first time in eighteen years.

In 2004 I joined a writing group run by two lectures from The University of East Anglia. The result of which is my book The Green Leaves of Winter a collection of short stories and poems. The stories and poems are mostly humorous, serious, horrific with a strong sexual element. The inclusion of the poems breaks up the stories making the book a more interesting read. The stories range from bare fist fighting, naughty Nuns, Black Shuck the devil s dog, even god trying to make prettier bums for his angels, and a dog on trial trying to stop them removing his nuts ! Truly a strange story collection.
