DOWNLOAD EBOOKThis book offers the foundations of system analysis as an applied scientific methodology assigned for the investigation of complex and highly interdisciplinary problems. It presents the basic definitions and the methodological and theoretical basis of formalization and solution processes in various subject domains. It describes in detail the methods of formalizing the system tasks and reducing them to a solvable form under real-world conditions.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKThis publication is the Project Plan for a community-type society. A societal-level project plan describes the organized thinking and execution of a socio-technical environment; the societal structuring of community. This project plan identifies humanity’s project to create a global community-type society for the fulfillment of that which everyone has mutually in common. This is a planned project for a configuration of society that may be tested in its results at optimally meeting all human life requirements at the global scale. This is a planning and work proposal for an open-source, societal-level project. This document describes and explains a unified approach to actions and results that is likely, given what is known and accessible, to improve all of humanity. This is the plan for societal navigation that specifies an approach, direction, and execution to socio-technical life. The project plan has three core sections: (1) Approach to project execution, (2) Direction of project execution, and (3) Execution of project execution. The standard details the complete, plannable information set for the society’s operation, including its approach to action, its direction of action, and its execution and adaptation of action. Herein, these concepts, their relationships and understandings, are defined and modeled. Discursive reasoning is provided for this specific configuration of a project plan, as opposed to the selection and encoding of other configurations. A project plan provides for the formalized project-based development operation of a society, organized in time and with available resources, coordinated to become a societal service system for human fulfillment and ecological well-being.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKFar from its origins in US legal studies in the 1980s, critical race theory has grown to become a leading approach to the analysis of racial inequality around the world. It has courted much controversy along the way, often misunderstood and poorly defined. So what precisely is critical race theory and what makes it different from other theories of race, racialization and racism? In this incisive book, Ali Meghji defines the contours of critical race theory through the notion of the 'racialized social system'. He thereby excavates a solid social theory that clears up many empirical and conceptual questions that continue to surface, offering a flexible, practical model for studying structural racism. In making his case, Meghji pays attention to the multiple dimensions of the racialized social system, focusing on core phenomena such as interaction orders, material interests, ideologies, emotions, and organizations. In a context where any work mentioning 'race' gets defined as critical race theory, this book expounds an approach that promises to be more generative for the social scientific study of race.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKMultilevel decision theory arises to resolve the contradiction between increasing requirements towards the process of design, synthesis, control and management of complex systems and the limitation of the power of technical, control, computer and other executive devices, which have to perform actions and to satisfy requirements in real time. This theory rises suggestions how to replace the centralised management of the system by hierarchical co-ordination of sub-processes. All sub-processes have lower dimensions, which support easier management and decision making. But the sub-processes are interconnected and they influence each other. Multilevel systems theory supports two main methodological tools: decomposition and co-ordination. Both have been developed, and implemented in practical applications concerning design, control and management of complex systems. In general, it is always beneficial to find the best or optimal solution in processes of system design, control and management. The real tendency towards the best (optimal) decision requires to present all activities in the form of a definition and then the solution of an appropriate optimization problem. Every optimization process needs the mathematical definition and solution of a well stated optimization problem. These problems belong to two classes: static optimization and dynamic optimization. Static optimization problems are solved applying methods of mathematical programming: conditional and unconditional optimization. Dynamic optimization problems are solved by methods of variation calculus: Euler Lagrange method; maximum principle; dynamical programming.

Designed to initiate and structure inquiry into the dynamics of international change, the book is organized to reflect three main dimensions of sys

DOWNLOAD EBOOKThe fall of communism, the emergence of the information age, and the expansion of economic globalism are the point of departure for this text. The author shows how these seemingly new developments fit with earlier patterns of global formation and change. This edition also evaluates studies of the modern world-system and assesses the implications for the future of the contemporary system.
