DOWNLOAD EBOOKSince the first century, Christians have detected "seeds of the Word" in the surrounding culture. No matter how charred or distorted the fragments, we can always uncover inklings of the Gospel, which can then lead people to God. Through this evocative collection of essays, Bishop Robert Barron finds those "seeds" in today's most popular films, books, and current events. How do Superman, Gran Torino, and The Hobbit illuminate the figure of Jesus? How does Bob Dylan convey the prophetic overtones of Jeremiah and Isaiah? Where can we detect the ripple of original sin in politics, sports, and the Internet culture? Finding the "seeds of the Word" requires a new vision. This book will train you to see.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKPreachers mount the pulpit steps terribly burdened by the conviction that they are somehow responsible for the growth and spiritual well-being of their congregants. How, they ask themselves, can mere words communicate the reality of God, bring life to a congregation, or foster spiritual growth? This study argues that effective sermons function much like Jesus' parables--by bearing witness to divine power. Parables and preaching both testify to something beyond themselves: to a life-giving dynamic that far outstrips the force of words alone. Preachers are not go-betweens or gatekeepers for the kingdom of heaven: rather, they imitate Jesus by dying to themselves in the very act of proclamation, relying directly on God for their sermons to bear fruit. As well as offering a novel interpretation of Jesus' agricultural parables, Of Seeds and the People of God presents a Christ-shaped theology of preaching. Beyond exegesis or rhetoric alone, faithful proclamation is a question of spirituality, of preachers and listeners together yielding to God's gift of new life.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKGod Plants Seeds is about realizing we all have a purpose on this earth, ordained by God before our births. He fills the hour glass of our lives with time and love; what we do with these gifts determines what we harvest from the fields of our lives, the ubuntu. We are obligated to love one another, to understand the adage, "I am because we are." Loving one person creates ripple effects throughout the world; loving the whole world is our gift of gratitude to God for all He has done for us. Only when we become "Christ with flesh on" will we accomplish God's plan for our lives. Listening for the tolling of a steeple bell from an old country church as evening comes, we hear Christ calling to us to come home. One tiny light, your light, can help heal the world's darkness. With God's love and grace, our children will harvest His peace through the seeds of character and talents that He has planted in all of us. As our Eternal Father, God directs our plans. Without Him, we are nothing; with Him, we can be our very best as leaders of the world.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKIt is a hodgepodge of poems, doctrinal dissertations, letters to God, and converstions with God, usually with unorthodox formats, conveying themes that are either discoveries of mine, or what I learned from my interactions with fellow Christians, people who fancied themselves to be Christians, and non-Christians; and finally perhaps the most important distinction of all are few revelations the Lord had been nice enough to share with me. Any inaccuracies are strictly mine, particularly when I try to express in words what I have gathered from Him which in and of themselves always would have inherent inadequacies because of the disparity between the finite and the Infinite.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKThe Book of Revelation (chapter 12) narrates a phenomenon that most readers will find incredible. Given a view of a period of time in Heaven, Apostle John saw and reported: "Then war broke out in Heaven; Michael and his angels went forth to battle with the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought." He actually saw Archangel Michael and His army of Angels in all out war against a dragon; and the Dragon and his Angels fought back. However, the Dragon and his Angels did not prevail: they were defeated and violently cast out of and down from Heaven: "And the huge dragon was cast down and out that ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, he who is the seducer (deceiver) of all Humanity the World over; he was forced out and down to the Earth, and his angels were flung out along with him." Further, the Warriors who vanquished this huge dragon called the Devil and Satan: "And they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with death [holding their lives cheap till they had to die for their witnessing]." This was a War in which the armaments were the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony This was a War of Words! This War would continue on Earth. After the Fall of Man, the War on Earth between the Two Seeds would be a War of the Spirit Beings; fought through Human Beings, and other living things, to the detriment of those who make the wrong choices during the battles to Save the World of Man! How did it begin and how will it end? This is one question every Believer is, literally, dying to know. So did Prophet Daniel (12v8): "And I heard, but I did not understand. Then I said: O my lord, what shall be the issue and final end of these things? The issue and final end of these things become evident as we trawl through Holy Scriptures and the histories of Man, as has been attempted in the 800 pages of this book.
