Taboo Topics These poems were written at a time of darkness in my life. Mama Angel died in March 2019 and 2 months later my Godmother died. I retreated alone to my wilderness camp for the to grieve, sort out my feelings of anger, confusion, and loss. Every single day for 3 months this continued until it was time to return to civilization and the reality of it all. My poems are about Taboo topics that most people have experienced, but are to afraid to talk about. Such as, grieve, addiction, depression, alcoholism, physical, emotional and mental abuse and so many more very serious issues. They are RAW!! REAL!! and they happened to me!! I have been on a healing journey since 2019 and continue to write poetry as I sober up and figure out where I belong on this creation. I have been searching for my true purpose on Mother Earth for the better part of 30 years. And finally, after many years simply existing and not living, of blaming the world, being angry miserable, sad and lost, i discovered my purpose, my passion and my gift of being an empath and a healer. I, Lee-Anne Poirier, aka Leolarp, aka LARPthePOET, am a 52 year old, single, Caucasian, childless, poet, writer, comedian, empath, healer Soul Sister, caregiver, independent human rights advocate, still living in her childhood home. A [please I have been trying to run away from for my entire life. Just to return, beaten, battered, broken and disgusted with myself to lick my wounds and regroup. Once I felt I had healed enough, i would try again, repeatedly. Kiss many frogs, but never found my Prince. My ultimate reason for writing my poetry book was to try and reach others that, I am willing to bet, have through similar life lessons and tribulations. If they can take on iota of information from my poems and say to themselves "Holy Shit! That's me!!" and realize that they are not alone, that somebody loves, someone utterly understands what they went and are still going through. As well as not to be afraid or ashamed to speak up and release the pain and agony that has been pushed so deep down into the furthest parts of their soul without fear of being ridiculed, ostracized, and treated like they are invisible and that they do not matter. Well, I am here to tell them all... YOU MATTER, YOUR ARE NOT ALONE, YOU ARE LOVED!! I CARE, I UNDERSTAND AND I AM GERE TO HELP!! I have a group of women that i call my Soul Sisters. Throughout the past few years, I began reaching out to many woman that posted their feelings and their stories on social media. I would let them know that if they ever wanted or needed to talk about anything and everying, that they can privately message me and i would be there for them. Not judgment, not criticism, no blame, complete confidentiality. Just tow soul sisters with a lot in common, looking for solutions to their pain and to be able to get it out so that they can begin their healing journey. To date I have approximately 200 Soul Sisters across the world give or take. My mission is to change the Human Condition that has been ingrained in all humanity, that has people terrified to voice their truth for fear of retribution or going against the social etiquette. We matter, we have hearts, souls and feelings. Being treated with kindness, dignity and respect is all that is requested. I will always be a work in progress! My healing journey is far from over! Every day I thrive to be a better version of myself than i was yesterday! If I can make on person feel wanted, loved, comforted and make them laugh, I have done an excellent job that day! I am positive that I will go through more life lessons, that is inevitable. However, I have jus found and took my POWER by the proverbial balls and I will never ever let it be taken away from me again. As I continue to write poetry, while healing and reaching out, I truly believe that I can make a huge impact on many people.

"[This] magnificent critical survey, with its inherent respect for both the 'Westt's mainstream high culture' and the 'radically changing world' of the 1990s, offers a new breakthrough for lay and scholarly readers alike....Allows readers to grasp the big picture of Western culture for the first time." SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE Here are the great minds of Western civilization and their pivotal ideas, from Plato to Hegel, from Augustine to Nietzsche, from Copernicus to Freud. Richard Tarnas performs the near-miracle of describing profound philosophical concepts simply but without simplifying them. Ten years in the making and already hailed as a classic, THE PASSION OF THE WESERN MIND is truly a complete liberal education in a single volume.

This deluxe edition, whether in ebook or paperback, contains the material of the award-winning book plus additional material: a dedication, foreword, acknowledgements, and a bonus essay I'm calling "The One Thing: The 5,000 Most Important Words I Have Ever Written (So Far)." In 2000, I was diagnosed with clinical depression. That's when I found out I had been living with a depressed brain my whole life and didn't know it. How many more people, I wondered, are walking around sad, irritable, and cynical, even when they can't think of any reason for it? Or maybe they have a reason but it hits them harder than most people? How many more feel this underlying hopelessness and think it's normal? How many more think they can't be (or shouldn't be) depressed, because a personal relationship with Jesus is supposed to make you immune to it? I started a blog in 2015. In this book, I've collected the posts that speak to recovery from depression. The book includes:?A look inside the mind of someone with clinical depression?Four Principles for Recovery (that came from hard experience)?Understanding the voice of the depressed brain (and how to fight back)? How faith and religion can either help or hurt your recovery?Resources for finding professional help.Recovery is one day at a time. After nineteen years of one day at a time, I can say a happy and fulfilling life is possible, even if your depressed brain colors everything in gray.

A compassionate, shame-free guide for your darkest days “A one-of-a-kind book . . . to read for yourself or give to a struggling friend or loved one without the fear that depression and suicidal thoughts will be minimized, medicalized or over-spiritualized.”—Kay Warren, cofounder of Saddleback Church What happens when loving Jesus doesn’t cure you of depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts? You might be crushed by shame over your mental illness, only to be told by well-meaning Christians to “choose joy” and “pray more.” So you beg God to take away the pain, but nothing eases the ache inside. As darkness lingers and color drains from your world, you’re left wondering if God has abandoned you. You just want a way out. But there’s hope. In I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die, Sarah J. Robinson offers a healthy, practical, and shame-free guide for Christians struggling with mental illness. With unflinching honesty, Sarah shares her story of battling depression and fighting to stay alive despite toxic theology that made her afraid to seek help outside the church. Pairing her own story with scriptural insights, mental health research, and simple practices, Sarah helps you reconnect with the God who is present in our deepest anguish and discover that you are worth everything it takes to get better. Beautifully written and full of hard-won wisdom, I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die offers a path toward a rich, hope-filled life in Christ, even when healing doesn’t look like what you expect.

For many people, remaining optimistic and feeling positive about themselves and their lives is a constant battle—especially when circumstances are difficult and life is hard. For others, negativity is something that only sneaks up from time to time, yet still wreaks havoc in their hearts. Regardless of the root causes, once pessimistic thoughts permeate our minds, our feelings and emotions begin to control us instead of us controlling them. Eventually it doesn’t seem possible to stay positive, happy, and full of joy, and negative thought patterns shake our faith, causing us to sink emotionally, mentally, and spiritually over time. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Despite what storms roll in, hearts anchored in God don’t sink. When we change the way we think, we can change the way we feel and live, even if our circumstances remain the same. Intentionally embracing the opportunity to experience a transformed heart and a renewed mind opens the door for a changed life, because a positive mind will always lead to a more positive life. In Unsinkable Faith, author and Proverbs 31 Ministries speaker Tracie Miles offers hope for women who struggle with negativity. Each chapter explores Tracie’s and other women’s personal stories, showing how they rose above their circumstances by transforming and renewing their minds. Unsinkable Faith is a breath of fresh air for anyone longing for a heart full of joy, an unbreakable smile, and a new, more optimistic perspective on life. This book will equip you to: Replace pessimism with positive thinking by becoming the captain of your thoughts; Learn how true joy and happiness are based on choice, not circumstances; Overcome unhealthy habits of negative thinking by intentionally implementing three easy mind-renewing steps; Stop feeling hopeless and pitiful, and start feeling hope-filled and powerful instead; and Discover that when you change the way you think, you change the way feel, and in turn you can change your life completely.
