LES TRAVAUX PRESENTES S'INSCRIVENT DANS LE CADRE D'UNE CONTRIBUTION A LA SIMULATION DYNAMIQUE DES PROCEDES OU DES SYSTEMES HYBRIDES SELON UNE APPROCHE ORIENTEE OBJET. DANS UN PREMIER TEMPS, LES CONCEPTS DE BASE RELATIFS A LA SIMULATION DYNAMIQUE DES PROCEDES CONTINUS A EVENEMENTS DISCRETS ET A LA SIMULATION DYNAMIQUE DES PROCEDES DISCONTINUS SERONT PASSES EN REVUE. LA PROPOSITION D'UNE ARCHITECTURE ORIENTEE OBJET POUR L'ASPECT CONTINU SERA DETAILLEE : ELLE REPOSE EN OUTRE SUR UN NOYAU NUMERIQUE STRUCTURE AUTOUR DE L'ENCAPSULATION D'UN SOLVEUR GENERAL DE TRAITEMENT D'EQUATIONS DIFFERENTIELLES ET ALGEBRIQUES (E.D.A.), ECRIT EN FORTRAN 77. DANS LE CADRE DE CES TRAVAUX, CELUI-CI S'EST VU DOTE DE NOUVELLES FONCTIONNALITES (TRAITEMENT DE MATRICES CREUSES POUR DES SYSTEMES DE GRANDE TAILLE,). DANS UNE DEUXIEME PARTIE, L'ASPECT HYBRIDE AINSI QUE LES PROBLEMES DELICATS RELATIFS AUX INTERFACAGES (FONCTIONS DE SENSIBILISATION, FONCTIONS DE JONCTION) ENTRE LE MONDE CONTINU (SOLVEUR NUMERIQUE, E.D.A., MODELES, DETECTION D'EVENEMENTS) ET LE MONDE DISCRET (GESTION DES EVENEMENTS, GESTION DE TRANSITIONS, FORMALISMES DU DISCRET (AUTOMATES, MACHINES A ETATS, RESEAUX DE PETRI, )) SERONT PLUS PARTICULIEREMENT ABORDES EN EXPLICITANT LES DIFFICULTES ET EN DETAILLANT LES SOLUTIONS PROPOSEES. L'APPROCHE RETENUE REPOSE SUR UNE ARCHITECTURE ORIENTEE OBJET PERMETTANT LA SYMBIOSE ENTRE LE SOLVEUR CONTINU E.D.A., PRESENTANT UNE TECHNIQUE DE DETECTION DES EVENEMENTS ET DE CALCUL DE CONDITIONS INITIALES COHERENTES EFFICACE ET FIABLE ET UN SOLVEUR DISCRET BASE SUR UNE APPROCHE PAR MACHINES A ETATS HYBRIDES A STRUCTURE RECURSIVE. LA FIABILITE DE L'ENVIRONNEMENT DE SIMULATION DYNAMIQUE HYBRIDE SERA ILLUSTREE AU TRAVERS D'EXEMPLES CHOISIS POUR LEUR DEGRE D'HYBRIDITE (DEGRES D'INTERCONNEXION ENTRE LES MODES CONTINU ET DISCRET). IL A ETE CONSTRUIT DANS LA MOUVANCE DE LA PHILOSOPHIE DES PROJETS EUROPEENS BRITE-EURAM CAPE-OPEN/GLOBAL CAPE-OPEN.

This new, third volume of Cohen-Tannoudji's groundbreaking textbook covers advanced topics of quantum mechanics such as uncorrelated and correlated identical particles, the quantum theory of the electromagnetic field, absorption, emission and scattering of photons by atoms, and quantum entanglement. Written in a didactically unrivalled manner, the textbook explains the fundamental concepts in seven chapters which are elaborated in accompanying complements that provide more detailed discussions, examples and applications. * Completing the success story: the third and final volume of the quantum mechanics textbook written by 1997 Nobel laureate Claude Cohen-Tannoudji and his colleagues Bernard Diu and Franck Laloë * As easily comprehensible as possible: all steps of the physical background and its mathematical representation are spelled out explicitly * Comprehensive: in addition to the fundamentals themselves, the books comes with a wealth of elaborately explained examples and applications Claude Cohen-Tannoudji was a researcher at the Kastler-Brossel laboratory of the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris where he also studied and received his PhD in 1962. In 1973 he became Professor of atomic and molecular physics at the Collège des France. His main research interests were optical pumping, quantum optics and atom-photon interactions. In 1997, Claude Cohen-Tannoudji, together with Steven Chu and William D. Phillips, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for his research on laser cooling and trapping of neutral atoms. Bernard Diu was Professor at the Denis Diderot University (Paris VII). He was engaged in research at the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics and High Energy where his focus was on strong interactions physics and statistical mechanics. Franck Laloë was a researcher at the Kastler-Brossel laboratory of the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris. His first assignment was with the University of Paris VI before he was appointed to the CNRS, the French National Research Center. His research was focused on optical pumping, statistical mechanics of quantum gases, musical acoustics and the foundations of quantum mechanics.

This book examines how the computer, as we currently know it, will be replaced by a new generation of technologies, moving computing off the desktop and ultimately integrating it with real world objects and everyday environments. It provides a unique combination of concepts, methods and prototypes of ubiquitous and pervasive computing reflecting the current interest in smart environments and ambient intelligence.

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • “A fascinating look at how consumers perceive logos, ads, commercials, brands, and products.”—Time How much do we know about why we buy? What truly influences our decisions in today’s message-cluttered world? In Buyology, Martin Lindstrom presents the astonishing findings from his groundbreaking three-year, seven-million-dollar neuromarketing study—a cutting-edge experiment that peered inside the brains of 2,000 volunteers from all around the world as they encountered various ads, logos, commercials, brands, and products. His startling results shatter much of what we have long believed about what captures our interest—and drives us to buy. Among the questions he explores: • Does sex actually sell? • Does subliminal advertising still surround us? • Can “cool” brands trigger our mating instincts? • Can our other senses—smell, touch, and sound—be aroused when we see a product? Buyology is a fascinating and shocking journey into the mind of today's consumer that will captivate anyone who's been seduced—or turned off—by marketers' relentless attempts to win our loyalty, our money, and our minds.

A compelling case for the re-examination of interface design models is presented by this text's assertion that human behavior is not taken into account in the planning model generally favored by artificial intelligence.
