Cat Scratch Disease (CSD): Causes, History, Prevalence, Diagnosis, Management Etc., Cat scratch disease (CSD), also known as cat scratch fever or subacute regional lymphadenitis, is a bacterial infection affecting lymph nodes that drain the sites of inoculation. Bartonella henselae, a gram-negative rod, is considered the principal etiologic agent. CSD is one of the most common causes of chronic lymphadenopathy in children and adolescents. Patients with CSD usually have a history of sustaining a scratch or bite from a cat (typically a kitten). The initial symptom is formation of a papule at the inoculation site, followed by solitary or regional lymphadenopathy within 1-2 weeks. In most patients, the disease resolves spontaneously within 2-4 months. Thus, it is strived in this E-Booklet to describe precisely Causes, Summarised History, Evaluation and Management of cat scratch disease and along with Plenty of ILLUSTRATIONS for better understanding. Dysgraphia: Symptoms, Causes, Diagnosis, Treatment, Management etc. A Concise Review. In the past, the term 'dysgraphia' was used to refer to both motor coordination difficulties affecting writing, as well as persistent difficulty expressing thoughts in writing due to weaknesses in literacy and/or language conventions (such as spelling, grammar and punctuation). To avoid any confusion between the two, a distinction has more recently been made with a specific learning disorder in written expression (Dysgraphia) referring to: a. Language-based difficulties involved in constructing meaningful and effectively structured expressive writing and b. Ongoing weaknesses in spelling and punctuation that affect a student's capacity to express their ideas with clarity. Students with Dysgraphia have extreme difficulty getting their thoughts both in order and then down on paper. Many students with Dysgraphia also have Dyslexia. Dysgraphia can appear as difficulties with spelling and/or trouble putting thoughts on paper. Dysgraphia is a neurological disorder that generally appears when children are first learning to write. Experts are not sure what causes it, but early treatment can help prevent or reduce problems. An attempt has been made in this E-Booklet to discuss the dysgraphia, potential proximal/ distal causes and emerging conclusion that it is diverse in the manifestations along with few relevant samples of dysgraphia for better understanding. … Dr. H. "Burning Mouth Syndrome (BMS): Etiopathogenesis, Clinical presentation, Diagnosis, Treatment/Management etc. " Burning mouth syndrome (BMS) is a chronic debilitating oral condition characterized by a burning sensation of the oral mucosa in an otherwise apparently normal person. The etiology and pathogenesis are obscure, but both psychogenic factors and peripheral and central neuropathies appear to be implicated. There is no cure for BMS, and treatment with either local or systemic medications focuses on the relief of symptoms and on improving quality of life. In recalcitrant cases, psychological/psychiatric intervention may be helpful. The pathogenesis of BMS is complex involving psychogenic factors and dysregulated peripheral and central pain pathways. Genetic factors determining the function of neural pain pathways may play an important role in individual susceptibility to BMS, and while there is no standard treatment protocol for its management, both drugs and psychological services may be required In order to improve treatment outcomes, a better understanding of the pathogenesis of this syndrome might provide a basis for the development of more effective management strategies. Hence, an effort has been made in this informative E-Booklet to discuss the current knowledge of the Etiopathogenesis, Symptoms /Signs, Investigations, Diagnosis, Treatment/ Effective Management strategies etc. for both types of Burning Mouth Syndrome (BMS). …Dr. H.
