And yet not ten per cent of all the irrigable land in C01 orado is under cultivation. Within recent years stock raising has attained to the second rank among her industries, and is probably destined erelong to surpass even mining in aggregate value. In manufactures a beginning has been made, and in this direction also the outlook is of the brightest. The public institutions of the centennial state, and especially her public schools, are second to none, and in this respect the young commonwealth is worthy of all commendation.
