DOWNLOAD EBOOKGlobal Gastronomic Adventures Presents A Real Taste of Southern Cooking ( Southern cooking Recipe Cookbook) When I started this project - Global Gastronomic Adventures - I didn't think it will get me this far, I didn't think it will become a way of getting to know cultures through food. My goal at first was to discover new and interesting recipes and the story behind them, but I realized that food speaks a lot about nations, about cultures and about individuals themselves and it is the perfect way to learn about countries in the deepest possible way. Food speaks a lot about history, speaks a lot about the struggles people have been through in some cases and speaks a lot about their joy if we look at festive dishes. Global Gastronomic Adventure is truly a way of getting to know the world and its meanings and I invite you to join me in this adventure, focusing on United States in this book. United States' cuisine has many influences and is different from region to region, but we will focus on the Southern cooking because I find it to be one of the most interesting. Southern cooking is a mix of the Native American cuisine and African American, but also English, German and French and that makes it a very versatile cuisine. The Southern states are Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and Texas. People living here seem to have a real culture and those born there will always consider themselves Southerners. They are easy to spot usually anyway due to their distinctive accent and dialects. The main ingredients for Southern cuisine seem to be squash, corn, tomatoes, flour, milk/dairy and eggs. Corn seems to be a staple of the region and it makes sense if we think that it was the Native Americans who introduce corn to the Europeans back in the days. European brought Beef in the United States and thus it began a real food adventure for the Southern Americans. The American Civil War had a huge impact on the Southern cooking and the foods people ate. Crops were destroyed during the war and food was hard to find. People had to go back to simple, common ingredients and they couldn't afford wasting a thing. Although the states began to recover slowly the following years, people kept eating simple and cheap, this kind of food being known as "soul food" at that time. Southern food still remains the same nowadays, despite the modern world. People enjoy their simple living and their food reflects it perfectly. However, simple ingredients doesn't mean lacking flavor or taste. Quite the opposite actually. Food is delicious, loaded with simple, yet interesting flavors and nothing is wasted. Follow me in this journey and you will see it for yourself. Put your apron on and get a bit of Southern food in your own kitchen. Southerners are proud of their culture and food and the truth is their recipes are delicious and easy to make, as well as versatile, perfect for the modern world we live in, despite all its technologies. Simple foods are known for being some of the best and this book will guide you through a bit of Southern food history, showing you how to make the most famous Southern foods, but also a few unusual combination. The book includes 10 delicious, fail proof recipes, using easy to find ingredients and unexpected flavors. Be bold and try some of these, it's a piece of history in one bowl and it's incredibly delicious.
