Excerpt from First Annual Dinner, 1913 York was effected September 25th and completed by a meeting of the Council November 6, 1913. Its pur pose is to cultivate social intercourse among its members and to collect historical material relating to the State of Pennsylvania. Its develop ment will proceed, therefore, on these two broad general lines. An essential feature is the Annual Dinner to be given on the date of the Annual Dinner of The Pennsylvania Society, but as a separate function, following which the members of the Society will occupy the boxes of the Dinner Hall of The Pennsylvania So clety for the addresses of the evening. In a sense an outgrowth of The Pennsylvania Society, the Society of Pennsylvania Women in New 'york 13 a wholly independent organization, organized with the friendliest feelings towards the older organization, and in large part from the women of its membership.
