Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

Excerpt from Electric Railway Practices in 1924: Summary of Most Significant Features of Presentations Made by Electric Railways, August 15, 1924, to the Charles A. Coffin Foundation Following the precedent established last year, the Charles A. Coffin Foundation decided to have a digest of the 1924 presentations made in order that there might be available a clear picture of the phases of electric railway practice which progressive managements con sider most creditable. This digest aims to cover the most suggestive parts of the presentations even if the devices or practices described are not entirely new. Obviously the best elements of practice tend to become standard; the fact that they do so is evidence of their value. A study of the digest will indicate to an executive the extent to which his own practice conforms to present tendencies. It should suggest one or more lines of improvement which he might profitably apply. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
