DOWNLOAD EBOOKHealthcare vocational schools connect students directly to sustainable and oftentimes rewarding technical careers. This project endeavored to show the viability, profitability, and consumer demand for such a school that is offering affordable programs that cost less than $3,000 and a training period of no greater than three months in Bakersfield, California. Market analysis shows that there is a need for career training in the field of Sterile Processing, Electrocardiography, and Endoscope Reprocessing, which are the planned program offerings for Abacus Healthcare Career School, in the said area. It is also determined that the proposed vocational school, being the first of its kind to offer these programs, will likely serve the surrounding areas of about a 100-mile radius or more, from Bakersfield. It is projected to serve the Valley as far north as Fresno and south to San Diego. Thus, it is recommended that Abacus should invest in opening a vocational school in Bakersfield, California as it promises to improve the livelihood of the individuals it serves, create better standards of healthcare for the communities involved and project a modest opportunity for growth and profit for the company.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKThe position of skills development on the agenda of policy-makers and development agencies improved markedly around the turn of the 21st century. This book tracks the ways skills have gained importance both in the developing and the more industrialized world. It analyses critically the multiple ’drivers' of skills development and the linkages of skills to the knowledge economy, growth, and employment in an increasingly competitive world. It also acknowledges the many modalities and delivery systems for skills development, arguing that this institutional diversity, often spread across several ministries and training authorities, has made it more difficult to give a national account of the skills development sector. The re-emergence of skills has triggered many reform initiatives associated with TVSD, some of which have become almost ’fashions' and are in danger of being adopted without sufficient evidence of their effectiveness. This work provides cautionary advice and fresh insights that planners will find rewarding.
