The growth of industries in the town has led to the introduction into the sewers of a large additional quantity Of manufacturing wastes, thereby making the sewage richer and more difficult to dispose of in the natural flow of the river. Extensive improvement and enlargement of the sewage disposal works are imperatively necessary in the near future to care for the largely increased quantity pumped upon the filter beds.
