DOWNLOAD EBOOKThe author of the bestselling You Are Not So Smart shares more discoveries about self-delusion and irrational thinking, and gives readers a fighting chance at outsmarting their not-so-smart brains David McRaney’s first book, You Are Not So Smart, evolved from his wildly popular blog of the same name. A mix of popular psychology and trivia, McRaney’s insights have struck a chord with thousands, and his blog--and now podcasts and videos--have become an Internet phenomenon. Like You Are Not So Smart, You Are Now Less Dumb is grounded in the idea that we all believe ourselves to be objective observers of reality--except we’re not. But that’s okay, because our delusions keep us sane. Expanding on this premise, McRaney provides eye-opening analyses of fifteen more ways we fool ourselves every day, including: The Misattribution of Arousal (Environmental factors have a greater affect on our emotional arousal than the person right in front of us) Sunk Cost Fallacy (We will engage in something we don’t enjoy just to make the time or money already invested “worth it”) Deindividuation (Despite our best intentions, we practically disappear when subsumed by a mob mentality) McRaney also reveals the true price of happiness, why Benjamin Franklin was such a badass, and how to avoid falling for our own lies. This smart and highly entertaining book will be wowing readers for years to come.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKFrom a bright new voice in African American women's fiction comes a sexy, scandalous, and scintillating novel set in steamy Atlanta. Stacie Long thinks she's God's gift to men and she keeps a list of qualities (phat ride, freak in bed...) that she's looking for in an ideal mate. But behind all her confidence she's got a secret -- one that even her best friend doesn't know about, one that may just keep her forever searching for her perfect man. Tameeka Johnson is a successful businesswoman who owns one of Atlanta's top wellness shops. But even with business booming, success in her bedroom is at an all-time low. Then, when she meets her black prince -- a loving man who promises to treat her like gold -- her insecurities about her sizeable body may just keep her from living the dream. Stacie and Tameeka are super tight, but their friendship is tested by sexy NBA players, baby mama drama, and temptations like they've never known before. Because if there's one thing these girls like better than each other, it's men.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKCertain lines define a movie. Marlene Dietrich in Morocco: “Anyone who has faith in me is a sucker.” Too, there are lines that fit actor and character. Mae West in I’m No Angel: “I’m very quick in a slow way.” Jane Fonda in California Suite: “Fit? You think I look fit? What an awful shit you are. I look gorgeous.” From the classics to the grade–B slasher movies, over 11,000 quotes are arranged by over 900 subjects, like accidents, double entendres, eyes (and other body parts!), ice cream, luggage, parasites, and ugliness. Each quote gives the movie title, production company, year of release, speaker of the line, and, when appropriate, a comment putting the quote in context.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKThis is a journal created from recordings transcribed of the journey Tina went through to find healing from a lifetime of abuse. Tina started seeing a therapist immediately after leaving an abusive relationship to gain an understanding to why she kept picking bad men into her life. She knew something was wrong. Originally Tina started recording her journey in hopes it would help someone else coming out of an abusive relationship. She didn’t know early memories of her childhood would surface and she would be faced with an even greater pain and sadness in her life. Her entire world changed from what she knew as a successful business woman and socialite to losing everything and everyone in her life. This is a story of pain, great sadness, the agony of the healing process, and seeking God into the final healing she would receive in the desert.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKWhat you're reading right now is known as the "cover copy," or “flap copy.” This is where the 84,951 words of my latest book are cooked down to 350 words or less to capture your imagination/download. I pondered how to do that. Should I cut to the chase and reveal pivotal plot points like the one at the end of the book where the little girl on crutches points an accusing finger and shouts, "the killer is Mr. Porter"? No. I have too much respect for you as an intelligent consumer to attempt such an obvious ruse. But let's not play games here. You clicked your way to this page, so you either: A. Know who I am. B. Like the cool smoking jacket I'm wearing on the cover. Or: C. Thought this was a secret link to Ashley Madison. Is it a sequel to my autobiography If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor? Sadly, no, which made it much harder to write. Is it an "autobiographical novel"? Yes. I am the lead character in the story (coincidentally an actor), and I am a real person, and everything in the book actually happened - except for the stuff that didn't. The action revolves around my preparations for a pivotal role in the A-list relationship film, Let's Make Love! My Homeric attempt to break through the glass ceiling of B-grade genre fair is hampered by a vengeful studio executive and a production that becomes infected by something called the "B-movie virus" - symptoms of which include excessive use of cheesy special effects, slapstick, and projectile vomiting. From a violent fistfight with a Buddhist to a life-altering stint in federal prison, this novel has it all. And if the 84,951 words are too time-consuming, there are lots and lots of cool graphics – all of which have been upgraded to vibrant color since the first publication. I hope you enjoy the book – and if you learn anything at all about making love, please share it with me! Regards, Bruce "Go Ahead and Call Me Ash" Campbell
