DOWNLOAD EBOOKExcerpt from William Lloyd Garrison and His Times: Or, Sketches of the Anti-Slavery Movement in America, and of the Man Who Was Its Founder and Moral Leader More thalu a few of the survivin g associates of Mr. Garrison have expressed to me their earnest thanks for this sincere but all inadequate tribute to his character and memory, and for the effort to present a historical outline of the movement With Which his name will be forever identified. The time to write an impartial history of that movement Will not come until long after all those Who took part in it are in their graves; but as one of the actors I have sought to make a contribution of some value to the materials for such a history, and to meet a want of the present time. That I have not been Wholly unsuccessful in the execution of this purpose the unsolicited and spontaneous testimony of eminent persons on both sides of the Atlantic en courages me to believe.
