We all have a story to tell I just decided to write mines in poetry. To let people know it's possible to overcome our mountains. I'm not perfect but I do have faith. This book is about overcoming not just mountains but even ourselves. We always think that we know what we are doing and where were going. We have been fooling ourselves in so many ways. This book is to let people know you can change your situations. Sometimes we must go through it so we can show it. To show what faith can do even if it's the size of a mustard seed. This book is to let people know that no matter what your past was like you can still become something special. Your past only determine your future unless you let it. This book is about Pain from a love one, Struggles in Life, Regrets that we make, Victory over the enemy, Faith, Love, Manhood, Family and the Value of Living. You must have a test in order to have a testimony. This book is about becoming a Victor and not a Victim. How you are at your best when you are tired and have nothing left to give in your body. But, you still hold your head high and keep fighting the good fight. Like they say you can get knocked down 5 times as long as you got up 6 times. Somebody told me that it's better to see where you going and that the blind can't lead the blind. I say that's the problem we depend on man to lead. But, also when you can't see where we going. We must depend on somebody to guide us through the dark times. It just depends on who you choose to guide you. The blind can't lead the blind because both are blind MEN. I want GOD to guide me this time. That's why I named the book "Walking With My Eyes Closed".

Mona and Other Tales covers Reinaldo Arenas's entire career: his recently rediscovered debut (which got him a job at the Biblioteca Nacional in Havana), stories written in a political prison, and some of his last works, written in exile. Many of the stories have not previously appeared in English. Here is the tender story of a boy who recognizes evil for the first time and decides to ignore it; the tale of a writer struggling between the demands of creativity and of fame; common people dealing with changes brought about by revolution and exile; a romp with a famous, dangerous woman in the Metropolitan Museum; an outrageous fantasy that picks up where Garcia Lorca's famous play The House of Bernardo Alba ends. Told with Arenas's famous wit and humanity, Mona makes a perfect introduction to this important writer. Translated from the Spanish by Dolores Koch.

"After her mother's death, Nunu moves from Istanbul to a small apartment in Paris. One day outside of a bookstore, she meets M., an older British writer whose novels about Istanbul Nunu has always admired. They find themselves walking the streets of Paris and talking late into the night. What follows is an unusual friendship of eccentric correspondence and long walks around the city. M. is working on a new novel set in Turkey and Nunu tells him about her family, hoping to impress and inspire him. She recounts the idyllic landscapes of her past, mythical family meals, and her elaborate childhood games. As she does so, she also begins to confront her mother's silence and anger, her father's death, and the growing unrest in Istanbul. Their intimacy deepens, so does Nunu's fear of revealing too much to M. and of giving too much of herself and her Istanbul away. Most of all, she fears that she will have to face her own guilt about her mother and the narratives she's told to protect herself from her memories"--Provided by publisher.

Prayers that lead to a growing intimacy with God. Heart-learning, not just more head knowledge. Walking conversations with God. These are a few of the fruits produced by a spiritual practice called holy walks. Rooted in the ancient art of praying the Psalms, holy walks enrich our understanding and practice of prayer by integrating prayer-walking and learning the Psalms by heart. In a practical, deeply personal, and at times humorous manner, Steve Simon shares how holy walks have transformed his own prayer life and revitalized his walk with God—and how they can do the same for the reader. In addition to explaining the spiritual practice of holy walks, Holy Walks also provides an introduction to the book of Psalms, which will be especially valuable for those with limited knowledge of the Bible. Exploring five types of psalms, Holy Walks describes how God uses them to shape our heart in life-giving ways no matter what peaks we’re climbing or valleys we’re traversing. The book concludes with a discussion on what the Psalms teach about God’s relationship with us as our creator, leader, and rescuer.
