Introduction : Depuis son autorisation, l'IVG médicamenteuse est en constante progression, et reste un sujet source de débat et de questionnements. Le vécu à long terme des patientes ayant eu recours à cette méthode constitue un sujet peu étudié. Nous avons documenté ce ressenti et les conséquences potentielles. Méthode : Enquête qualitative par entretiens semi-directifs réalisés entre février et avril 2021 auprès de 12 femmes ayant vécu une IVG médicamenteuse entre 5 et 10 ans auparavant. L'analyse a été effectuée en contenu thématique et le guide d'entretien a évolué selon les principes de la théorisation ancrée. Résultats : Le vécu physique, varié, était amélioré par les informations reçues des médecins. Le vécu psychique était plus hétérogène : culpabilité ou regrets, ou à l'inverse, aucune pensée négative. Plusieurs éléments influençaient ce ressenti comme le contexte de réalisation de l'IVG ou l'accompagnement des différents acteurs au cours du processus. L'accompagnement psycho-social devait être impérativement proposé mais son recours devait paradoxalement rester optionnel. L'accompagnement du médecin était plutôt apprécié, avec des pistes d'améliorations proposées. Sur le plan social, sexuel ou procréatif, peu de changements étaient rapportés. Conclusion : Le vécu à long terme des IVG médicamenteuses observé dans notre étude était similaire aux études antérieures, réalisées précocement après l'acte. Plusieurs propositions, définies à partir de l'expérience des femmes, permettraient d'améliorer le vécu et le suivi de leur IVG médicamenteuse.

This book provides an in-depth analysis of the influence of public policy on sex selection. Three Asian countries were chosen for the comparative policy analysis, namely South Korea, India and Vietnam that share in common a historical legacy of son preference, high levels of sex imbalances and active policy response to curbing the growing demographic masculinization of their nations. The research based on the data collected from field work in the three countries shows that despite the adoption of very similar anti-sex selection policies the outcomes have been markedly different for each of the three countries. These unexpected diverse outcomes are explained partly by their different historical and cultural contexts, and partly to the different social, political and economic institutions and dynamics. A decade in preparation, Immigrant Entrepreneurs offers the most comprehensive case study ever completed of the causes and consequences of immigrant business ownership. Koreans are the most entrepreneurial of America's new immigrants. By the mid-1970s Americans had already become aware that Korean immigrants were opening, buying, and operating numerous business enterprises in major cities. When Koreans flourished in small business, Americans wanted to know how immigrants could find lucrative business opportunities where native-born Americans could not. Somewhat later, when Korean-black conflicts surfaced in a number of cities, Americans also began to fear the implications for intergroup relations of immigrant entrepreneurs who start in the middle rather than at the bottom of the social and economic hierarchy. Nowhere was immigrant enterprise more obvious or impressive than in Los Angeles, the world's largest Korean settlement outside of Korea and America's premier city of small business. Analyzing both the short-run and the long-run causes of Korean entrepreneurship, the authors explain why the Koreans could find, acquire, and operate small business firms more easily than could native-born residents.
