Part I of this document provides interpretations of the Department of Defense Trusted Computer System Evaluation Criteria (TCSEC) (DOD-5200.28-STD), for trusted computer/communications network systems. The specific security feature, the assurance requirements, and the rating structure of the TCSEC are extended to networks of computers rangings from isolated local area networks to wide-area internetwork systems.
