The curves presented in this volume of the final report are to be used to obtain aerodynamic influence coefficient matrices for slender two-dimensional airfoils in hypersonic inviscid flow. Influence coefficients are presented for ten airfoil shapes as a function of thickness ratio, Mach number and geometric angle of attack. (Author).

Methods for predicting the elastic characteristics of severely heated lifing surfaces are described. These methods, applicable to a wide variety of configurations and support conditions, account for nonlinear temperature distributions in all directions and the effects of finite deflections. Specific distributions in all formulations are given for the case where the surface can be represented as a thin plate and for the flexural element-torsion box representation. Both approaches are applied to the prediction of test data, and their accuracy is assessed. The extension of other low aspect ratio wing analysis techniques to include elevated temperature effects is also described.
