A doctrine once common in Apostolic times unlocks the meaning of many Bible passages. Ancient Jews, Christians, Gnostics, and Greek philosophers, believed that heaven is an unchanging place of timelessness-the first dimension where creation began, and will return at the end of time. This book catalogs evidence of this theology throughout the Bible, and numerous ancient texts. Unknown to the majority of Christians, the theology of two aeons is central to many Bible passages, many of them related to the ascension of Christ. The Son of Man ascended into the unchanging Spirit of God the Father, who lives in heaven outside of time and space. This knowledge was revealed to ancient Israel, a testimony of Christ's priesthood many years before He walked the earth.

Subsequent to the Turkish war 1877-1878 I un dertook a series of journeys in the Orient. Having visited all the localities, more or less remarkable, of the. Balkan Peninsula, I crossed the Caucasus mountain to Central Asia and Persia, and finally in 1887 I started for India, a most extraordinary country, which had at tracted me from my early days. The aim of my journey was to become acquainted with the inhabitants of India, and to study on the spot their manners and customs, the grand and mysterious archaeology, and the colossal and majestic nature of this country. Wandering from one place to another, without a settled plan, I reached the mountainous Af ghanistan, from where I reached India by the pictur esque passes of Bolan and GuernaL Having ascended the Indus as far as Rawal Pindi, I crossed the Punjab, the country of the five rivers, and visited the Golden Temple of Armitsar and the tomb of Ranjit Sing, the king of the Punjab, near Lahore. I then directed my steps towards Kashmir, the valley of eternal felicity. There in order to satisfy my curiosity, I recommenced my wanderings and continued them until I arrived at Ladak, whence I decided to return to Russia, through Karak orroum and Chinese Turkestan. One day in the course of my visit to the Buddhist convent, situated on my route, I learnt from the chief Lama, that there existed in the archives of Lassa very ancient memoirs treating of the life of Jesus Christ and the nations of the Occident, and that certain great viii PREFACE. monasteries possessed copies and translations of those chronicles. As there was little probability that I should again visit those countries, I postponed to a future date my return to Europe, and, cost what it might, I resolved either to secure those copies from the great convents, or at any rate go to Lassa for further information on the subject a journey far from being so dangerous and difficult as we are led to believe. Moreover, by this time I was so well accustomed to these kinds of perils that they could not deter me from my undertaking. During my stay at Leh, the capital of Ladak, I vis ited the great monastery of Himis, situated near the city. The chief Lama of the monastery told me that the monastic library contained some copies of the manu script in question. Lest I should awaken the suspicion of the authorities on the object of my visit to the con vent, and thereby find obstacles in my character as a Russian in my future journey in Thibet, I determined to leave the capital of Ladak, and departed for India. An unfortunate fall, by which I broke my leg, furnished me with an unexpected pretext to return to the monas tery, where I received excellent care and during my short stay with the Lamas, I had the honor of obtaining the consent of their chief to have brought from the li brary the manuscript relating to Jesus Christ, and, aided by my interpreter, who translated for me from the Thibe tan language, I wrote down carefully the verses as they were read by the Lama...

This critical history of Doctor Who covers the series 60 years, from the creation of the show to its triumph as Britain's number one TV drama. Opening with an in-depth account of the creation of the series within the BBC of the early 1960s, each decade of the show is tackled through a unique political and pop cultural historical viewpoint, exploring the links between contemporary Britain and the stories Doctor Who told, and how such links kept the show popular with a mass television audience. Timeless Adventures reveals how Doctor Who is at its strongest when it reflects the political and cultural concerns of a mass British audience (the 1960s, 1970s and 21st Century), and at its weakest when catering to a narrow fan-based audience (as in the 1980s). The book also addresses the cancellation of the show in the late 1980s (following the series becoming increasing self-obsessed) and the ways in which a narrowly-focused dedicated fandom contributed to the show's demise and yet was also instrumental in its regeneration for the 21st Century under Russell T. Davies, and analyses the new series to reveal what has made it so popular, reflecting real world issues like consumerism and dieting.

Long, long before the Information Age ended, young Hildegard of Bingen finds beauty in the moral and spiritual ruins of her medieval world. In her forty-third year, she inscribes her cosmic visions into Scivias, an indescribably beautiful codex of writing and illuminations thought to be destroyed during the evacuation of Earth. In a sea cave with cracked amethyst walls on Avaaz, Pinky Agarwalia discovers fragments of this visionary text containing hitherto unknown pathways to a lost vision of human co-existence with plants and non-humans - and the seeds of its rebirth on Avaaz. Bursting with mythic quantum energy, Hildegard's vital linguistic potion viriditas, threaded throughout her communiques, is a lush, verdant, renewable life-force. Her ecological message may be just the magic needed for rebirth on Avaaz. Hildegard's mystic toolkit for the future includes a cosmology, medicine, a morphology of crystals, recipes - and the symbols of a new language. As Pinky Agarwalia traces the diagrams with her fingertip, she suddenly understands - a vision that appears without warning in her own mind - that she must first immerse these materials in water, a guarded substance. In the water, the molecules of the hidden language dissolve, freeze then reconfigure into new shapes, the crystalline language communicated not through sound but by feeling and light. Lingua Ignota, Hildegard's mysterious invented 'unknown language', arrives just in time for a world in flux, one whose coordinates are being recast.

Reflections on the One Life is a book of daily expressions or pointers to spiritual awakening—one pointer for each day of the year. The clarity is astounding. This demystifies spiritual awakening, strips it of all fundamentalism, and presents it in a clear and easy-to-read way. This is about the timeless presence that you already are. Each pointer peels away beliefs, positions, and ideas about spirituality, including the idea that you exist as a separate self, only to reveal—in the end—that nothing is excluded. Its central message is that there is only One Life appearing in a myriad of forms. You are that One Life. This is when the distinctions between absolute and relative, form and formlessness, timelessness and time, no self and self, One and many, and all other boundaries collapse into a great and loving mystery that Scott calls 'This’.
