DOWNLOAD EBOOKWhy does Bible study flourish in some churches and small groups and not in others? In this updated edition of a trusted classic, two Christian education specialists provide readers with the knowledge and methods needed to effectively communicate the message of the Bible. The book offers concrete guidance for mastering a biblical text, interpreting it, and applying its relevance to life. Its methods, which have been field-tested for twenty-five years, help pastors, teachers, and ministry students improve their classroom skills. Readers will learn how to develop the "big idea" of a passage and allow the text itself to suggest creative teaching methods. This new edition has been updated throughout and explores the changed landscape of Bible study over the past two decades. Readable and interdisciplinary in approach, this book will help a new generation of Bible students teach in a purposeful and unified way.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKIn addition to the full text of the Holman CSB, the Teacher’s Bible contains forty devotions from Vicki Caruana, one of America’s leading champions of excellence in education. These devotions point to the spiritual resources required to do what only God can do as He works through human beings. Visit her website at www.applesandchalkdust.com This is a Bible that will be bought by teachers for themselves and by parents, churches, and school administrations as gifts for teachers. Many churches now have designated times when they recognize and pray for teachers and students as they begin the new school year. The Teacher’s Bible would be a wonderful gift for such occasions.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKJesus teaches that regardless of one's profession, if one does not demonstrate a changed life produced by God, one will not enter into heaven. Such a judgment will be made when Jesus returns and judges every person according to his or her "works." While this may seem contradictory to some more well-known passages ruling out the role of works in salvation (e.g., Rom 3:21-4:25; Gal 2:16-21; Eph 2:8-9), there is every good reason to understand that Jesus' teachings complement such passages. The works that admit one into heaven are not works produced by the flesh before conversion but works produced by God after conversion. They will fundamentally be characterized by a life of discipleship, love for others, and endurance in faith and obedience, and will therefore serve to confirm that one indeed did have a relationship with God during one's life.
