John W. Spencer (1720-1776) married Sarah Watkins in 1742, lived in Charlotte County, Virginia, and served in the Revolutionary War. His grandson, Banister Dodson Spencer (1807-1975), moved to Halifax County, Virginia and married Elizabeth Y. Henderson in 1832. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Florida, Arkansas and elsewhere.
