Trieste Publishing has a massive catalogue of classic book titles. Our aim is to provide readers with the highest quality reproductions of fiction and non-fiction literature that has stood the test of time. The many thousands of books in our collection have been sourced from libraries and private collections around the world. The titles that Trieste Publishing has chosen to be part of the collection have been scanned to simulate the original. Our readers see the books the same way that their first readers did decades or a hundred or more years ago. Books from that period are often spoiled by imperfections that did not exist in the original. Imperfections could be in the form of blurred text, photographs, or missing pages. It is highly unlikely that this would occur with one of our books. Our extensive quality control ensures that the readers of Trieste Publishing's books will be delighted with their purchase. Our staff has thoroughly reviewed every page of all the books in the collection, repairing, or if necessary, rejecting titles that are not of the highest quality. This process ensures that the reader of one of Trieste Publishing's titles receives a volume that faithfully reproduces the original, and to the maximum degree possible, gives them the experience of owning the original work.We pride ourselves on not only creating a pathway to an extensive reservoir of books of the finest quality, but also providing value to every one of our readers. Generally, Trieste books are purchased singly - on demand, however they may also be purchased in bulk. Readers interested in bulk purchases are invited to contact us directly to enquire about our tailored bulk rates.

Excerpt from The Pennsylvania Magazine of History and Biography, 1882, Vol. 6 The Trustees of the building have paid the balance required to complete the purchase, and the property now belongs to the Historical Society. To place the building in a condition to be occupied, and to give the requisite fire-proof accommodation and an auditorium; at least more is needed. Neither the Council nor the Building Committee can be expected to importune the public for this sum. It should be furnished by voluntary subscriptions, and, as the subscriptions already made have come from less than one-half of the members, it is earnestly hoped that all interested will now render what assistance may be convenient to them. Excerpt from The Pennsylvania Magazine of History and Biography, Vol. 74: January, 1950 N December 2, 1949, The Historical Society of Pennsylvania celebrated its one hundred and twenty-fifth birthday. In formulating the plans for this occasion, the Council of the Society felt that the more serious aspects of our work should be stressed, rather than the large functions and ceremonies that accom panied our One Hundredth Anniversary. A centennial is an appro priate time for such festivities, but this off-anniversary year called for a more practical celebration. The Council's main consideration, therefore, was to do something of more than passing interest, some thing that would focus attention on the Society's primary functions. Our F conders recognized these functions clearly, and incorporated them in the Charter of the Society by stating that our purpose was threefold: to collect, to preserve, to elucidate. Excerpt from The Pennsylvania Magazine of History and Biography, 1880, Vol. 4 9 The lack of knowledge concerning the Germans amounts at times almost to obtuseness. Dr. William Smith wrote in 1753 a letter, recently printed, in which he said they were in danger of sinking into barbarian ignorance, while in another sentence he complained with the utmost naivete that they import many foreign books, and in Penna. Have their printing houses and their newspapers. The editor of the Magazine of American History lately gave space to a controversy as to whether Collin's Bible or Thomas's Bible, both printed in 1791, was the First great Quarto Bible in America, apparently unaware that Saur was a half century earlier. Excerpt from The Pennsylvania Magazine of History and Biography, 1922, Vol. 46 The son of Charles Willing, who was a leading merchant and twice Mayor of Philadelphia, and Anne Shippen, his wife, Thomas Willing was born in this city on the 19th day of December, 1731, and died here on the 19th of January, 1821, a century ago. At an early age he was sent to his Grandmother Willing to be educated at Bath, England. Later he went to school in London. He was entered as a student at law in the Inner Temple on the 5th of October, 1748. The legal training that he thus obtained stood him afterwards in good stead when he sat as a Judge of the Orphans' Court here in Philadelphia, and later as a Justice of the Supreme Court of the Province. His legal training was also of value to him in his mercantile career, in the important position of President of the Bank of North America, and after that in the equally respons ible post of President of the First Bank of the United States. Returning home to Philadelphia in 1749, Thomas Willing became a subscriber to the Assembly Dances, and in 1755 a manager of those entertainments that have become interwoven in the history of Philadelphia. Excerpt from The Pennsylvania Magazine of History and Biography, 1916, Vol. 40 Mr. President, Fellow Members of the Historical Society, and Distinguished Guests of the Bench and Bar: We have met tonight to do honor to the memory of one who for nineteen years was our Senior Vice President - from November 12, 1896, to July 4, 1915 - and who for fifty-five years was in close personal and official relationship to our active work. Beginning with a life membership in 1859, when he was but twenty-five years of age, he was elected a member of the Council in 1881, becoming President of the Council in 1883, and holding that office until his death; filling acceptably, as manifested by successive re-elections, one of the Vice Presidencies of the Society until, through the deaths of Judge Craig Biddle and Dr. Henry Charles Lea, he attained seniority in 1896, becoming at the same time a Trustee of the Gilpin Library. During all these years he was in hearty sympathy with our purposes, and by generous gifts added substantially to our treasures.
