Each chapter will guide you in crafting prayer strategies that hit the enemy where it hurts, letting him know you’re on to him and that you won’t back down. New York Times bestselling author Priscilla Shirer, widely known for her international speaking, teaching, and writing ministries, brings her new role from the 2015 film War Room into the real lives of today’s women, addressing the topics that affect them most: renewing their passion, refocusing their identity, negotiating family strife, dealing with relentless regrets, navigating impossible schedules, succeeding against temptation, weathering their worst fears, uprooting bitterness, and more. Each chapter exposes the enemy’s cruel, crafty intentions in all kinds of these areas, then equips and encourages you to write out your own personalized prayer strategies on tear-out sheets you can post and pray over yourself and your loved ones on a regular basis. D. L. Moody writes, “It is like this. When a man enters the army, he is a member of the army the moment he enlists; he is just as much a member as a man who has been in the army ten or twenty years. But enlisting is one thing, and participating in a battle another.” Originally published in 1894, The Overcoming Life is one of those little books you just have to read. It is quintessential D.L. Moody. Its blunt edge drives hard at the ways in which Christians are overcome in this life (spiritual warfare, sin, distraction, etc.) and then gives ample assistance as to how we might begin to live a life in Christ that overcomes the things that once took hold of us.

Methodist minister and Civil War chaplain Edward McKendree Bounds (1835-1913) considered conversation with God as fundamentally vital to the Christian's life as physical breath. He devoted the last 17 years of his life to intense intercession and to penning some of the most perennially popular works about prayer. This attractive volume features the very best of his beloved writings. "God shapes the world by prayer. Prayers are deathless. The lips that uttered them may be closed in death, the heart that felt them may have ceased to beat, but the prayers live before God, and God's heart is set on them and prayers outlive the lives of those who uttered them; they outlive a generation, outlive an age, outlive a world." --from E.M. Bounds on Prayer Every Christian library needs the classics--the timeless books that have spoken powerfully to generations of believers. Teach Us To Pray Prayer creates a sweet smelling fragrance around God's throne. Every church and every Christian must practice the act of prayer in order to create that fragrance before the throne of God. We pray to instigate war in the heavenlies-we command the fight in the spirit realm. We bring the forces of heaven-the angels to collide with the forces of darkness-satanic princes over nations that resist the angels from delivering God's answers to prayer. The prophet Daniel committed himself to fasting and prayer for twenty-one days. The angel bringing Daniel's answer could not deliver the message because the prince of Persia-a satanic principality-hindered him. The angel had to call for backup from heaven. God sent Archangel Michael to take up the fight. The first angel slipped through the fight and conveyed the message to Daniel. Your prayers can do the same. Owupele and Mabel Bamson The Bamsons have a combined salvation experience of over 40 years and charismatic experience of the power of the Holy Spirit for over 28 years. They were trained under one of the leading men of faith in Africa, the Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David O. Oyedepo. They are graduates of Word of Faith Bible Institute under the same ministry in the Abuja Campus. The Bamsons were commissioned and ordained in 1996 and 1998 and are sent by God to the United States to raise Intercessors, train them by seminars and mentor them into dynamic prayer warriors. The Bamsons have ministered to immigrants from Jamaica in Nashville and currently planting a church in Nashville, Chapel of Peace, Inc., a non-denominational charismatic church, also known as The House of Prayer. They have seen God move in the miraculous.

The epistle is addressed to "the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad". This naturally leads one to think of Jews living outside the land of Palestine. Since the Assyrian and Babylonian captivities, many Jews were scattered throughout different nations. While Jews, the epistle makes it clear that they were also brethren in the Lord, i.e., they were Jewish Christians. Nineteen times James calls them "brethren" and at least one time he definitely means those who were brethren "in the Lord".
