European megalithism dates mainly from the Neolithic and will last until the Chalcolithic (Copper Age) from 5000 to 2000 BC. Fifty thousand dolmens have been recorded in the world, including twenty thousand in Europe, although these are unevenly distributed according to the regions. The French department with the most dolmens is not found in Brittany or on the Atlantic coast as one might believe it! Finistère and Morbihan, the two departments with the most dolmens in Brittany, each have around 350 dolmens, where the south of France has several thousand. The Aveyron is the leader with about 1000 dolmens, followed by the Ardèche and the Lot with about 800 dolmens each. Megalithism developed where men could easily extract and transport large slabs of stone. In the Lot, former territory of Quercy, these technical constraints explain the concentration of megaliths on the Causses de Gramat, Saint-Chels and Limogne, limestone being the most commonly used material. This book presents the location, map in support, dolmens of the Lot department (46 - France) classified or listed as Historical Monuments.

This work looks at the surge of Bretons who left their homes in Western France in the latter half of the 19th century to live and work in Paris. Portrayed as backward, ignorant peasants they found no welcome until after WWII. Moch positions her work within immigration theory, connecting migration studies to theories about state projects of assimilation and about cultures of inclusion and exclusion.

Honor Frost has written a travel book with this difference: her journeys have extended below the surface of the sea. Her accounts of these regions can be compared with the writings of early travellers who, unhampered by overspecialization, recorded a variety of observations on completely unknown places. In setting down her direct experience she has thrown new light on the much discussed submect of underwater archaeology. This book contains 22 colour and 28 monochrome photographs by well known divers, also 52 plans and drawings by the author illustrating her arguments. It is addressed to travell.
