Video can help you close the deal in a virtual world and this book from award winning marketer and author Marcus Sheridan will show you how. With practical advice and step by step instructions, this is the ultimate guide to selling over video - no matter how much you hate watching yourself on the screen. More than ever before, buyers and consumers are demanding for more video. Just "reading" about a product, service, or company will no longer do the trick. Today, they must "see" it. Notwithstanding this increased demand for video, most businesses and organizations have struggled to quickly adapt. In fact, many have no idea as to how or where to get started. For this purpose, The Visual Sale was written. Finally, businesses and organizations have a clear guide that will literally show them, in simple, clear, and actionable terms, exactly how they can build a culture of video and start "showing it" moving forward, ultimately leading to a dramatic improvement to their sales numbers, marketing strategy, and overall customer experience.

With the technological advancement of modern society, electronic devices are getting progressively more integrated in our everyday lives. Their continuouslygrowing presence is generating numerous concerns about costs, efficiency and the environmental impact of the electronic waste. In this context, organic electronics is finding its way through the market, allowing for potentially low-cost, light, flexible, transparent and environmentally friendly electronics. Despite the numerous successes of organic electronics, the functioning of several categories of organic devices still represents a technological challenge, due to problems like low efficiencies and stabilities (degradation over time). Organic devices are composed by one or more organic materials depending on the particular application. The conformation and electronic structure of the organic molecules as well as their supramolecular arrangement in the single phase or at the interface are known to strongly a affect the mobility and/or the efficiency of the device. While there is consensus on the fundamental physics of organic devices, we still lack a detailed comprehensive theory able to fully explain experimental data. In this thesis we focus on trying to expand our knowledge of charge transport in organic materials through theoretical modelling and simulation of organic electronic devices. While the methodology developed is generally valid for any organic device, we will particularly focus on the case represented by organic photovoltaics. The morphology of the system is obtained by molecular dynamics simulations. Marcus theory is used to calculate the hopping rate of the charge carriers and subsequently study the possibility of free charge carriers production in an organic solar cell. The theory is then compared both with Kinetic Monte Carlo simulations and with experiments to identify the main pitfalls of the actual theory and ways to improve it. The Marcus rate between two molecules depends on the molecular orbital energies, the transfer integral between the two molecules and the reorganization energy. The orbital energies and the transfer integrals between two neighbouring molecules are obtained through quantum mechanical calculations in vacuum. Electrostatic effects of the environment are included through atomic charges and atomic polarizabilities, producing a correction both to the orbital energy and to the reorganization energy. We have studied several systems in the single phase (polyphenylene vinylene, C60, PC61BM) and at the interface between two organic materials (anthracene/C60, TQ1/PC71BM). We show how a combination of different methodologies can be used to obtain a realistic ab-initio model of organic devices taking into account environmental effects. This allows us to obtain qualitative agreement with experimental data of mobility in the single phase and to determine whether or not two materials are suitable to be used together in an organic solar cell.

Artificial Absolutes Jane Colt is just another recent college grad working as an Interstellar Confederation office drone—until the day she witnesses her best friend, Adam, kidnapped by a mysterious criminal. An extensive cover-up thwarts her efforts to report the crime, shaking her trust in the authorities. Only her older brother, Devin, believes her account. Devin hopes to leave behind his violent past and find peace in a marriage to the woman he loves. That hope shatters when he discovers a shocking secret that causes him to be framed for murder. With little more than a cocky attitude, Jane leaves everything she knows to flee with Devin, racing through the most lawless corners of the galaxy as she searches for Adam and proof of her brother’s innocence. Her journey uncovers truths about both of them, leading her to wonder just how much she doesn’t know about the people she loves. Synthetic Illusions Illusion is the only reality. Jane’s new career as a composer is a dream come true, but her blossoming relationship with Adam is marred by his terrifying nightmares. When Jane receives a warning that a shadowy agency is targeting Adam’s seminary school, she rescues him in the nick of time, but the only way she can protect him from such a powerful enemy is to run. In a shocking betrayal, her brother wasn’t the one who warned her about the attack on Adam. Instead, Devin was leading it. As Jane struggles to keep one step ahead of Devin, Adam’s exhaustion gives way to horror: His nightmares have begun to touch the real world. Jane can’t abandon Adam to a fate worse than death, and far more than Adam’s life hangs in the balance. As Jane pushes further into the dark unknown, she must challenge everything she once believed in, and she faces the most wrenching decision of her life: choosing between the two people she loves most. Virtual Shadows Life on the galaxy’s lawless Fringe isn’t easy. Nevertheless, Jane doesn’t regret sacrificing her comfortable life to protect the young man she loves. But the very place she took him for safety is slowly killing him, and her world is shaken again when her brother, Devin, reenters her life. Determined to discover the identity of those behind a vicious bombing near his agency’s secret base, Devin defies his superiors and ventures into the dark corners of the universe. When he learns that the attackers have their crosshairs on the mysterious woman who saved his life, the mission becomes personal. Unable to remain in hiding and unwilling to stand by while danger looms, Jane joins her brother on his quest and battles a chilling adversary hell-bent on destroying her homeworld. Entangled in a web of interstellar intrigue, virtual deception, and murderous agendas, she races to find answers—before the enemy wreaks devastation upon all she once knew.

"Help students shine on the written portion of any standardized test by teaching the skills they need to craft powerful, compelling arguments using rhetorical devices. Students will learn to accurately identify and evaluate the effectiveness of rhetorical devices in not only famous speeches, advertisements, political campaigns, and literature, but also in the blog, newspaper, and magazine entries they read in their daily lives. Students will then improve their own writing strategy, style, and organization by correctly and skillfully using the devices they have learned. Each device is illustrated with clear, real-life examples to promote proper usage and followed up with meaningful exercises to maximize understanding. Pointers are provided throughout this book to help your students develop a unique writing style, and cumulative exercises will help students retain what they have learned."--
