Sir A. J. E. Cockburn, solicitor-general, was appointed attorney-general, and William Page Wood, Esq., one of her Majesty's Counsel, was appointed solicitor-gen eral, and was afterwards knighted. In the Vacation after Trinity Term, 1851, vice-chancellor Knight Bruce and Lord Cranworth were appointed Lords Justices in the Court of Chancery.
