It was sometime in the summer of 1987 when the bug bit. "Let's buy a motorhome and go on an adventure," said one spouse. "Are you nuts," replied the other, "I like my roots right here where my friends are."
Millions of people travel the countryside in RVs, and that trend shows no signs of slowing down. RVing leaves a smaller carbon footprint than traditional fly/hotel/drive vacations; plus, it’s a lot more comfortable and convenient. Prospective RV buyers agree that RVing allows for more family togetherness, a less-expensive vacation, and a great way to avoid the illnesses travelers pick up in hotels and on cruise ships. If you’ve already got your RV, or if you’ll be renting a rig for the trip, this book will show you how to choose the perfect trip for you or your family, and how to get there smoothly and easily. Idiot’s Guides®: RV Vacations covers: - Basic tips for getting up to speed in a rented RV. - Practical information for safety and convenience on the road, plus how-to information on booking space at campgrounds and getting hooked up once there. - Info for getting started with boondocking, or noncampground camping. - Choosing your destination and planning the perfect trip. - Itineraries for regional driving trips, plus lists of the top campgrounds in various regions. - Forty of the best RV vacations to the most popular attractions in the US, including national and state parks, beach destinations, Orlando, Branson, and other sites of wide interest for families and couples. Each trip will include a map; adaptable one-, two-, and three-week itineraries; rest and food stops; campground information; and a guide to the top things to do once you’re there.

The ultimate log book for RVers who want to keep great records of where they've been! Record campground information like: Hookups available Bathhouse conditions Amenities Road Conditions Campsite conditions Management/Staff Info Booking/Cancellation Notes Local Area Notes Sightseeing Notes and A LOT more! There's even extra space to add your own notes for each site! Great for RVing in: Class A Motorhomes Class C Motorhomes Travel Trailer RV 5th Wheel RV Class B Motorhome Custom Vans This book is an amazing tool for your travel adventures. We, as full-time RVers ourselves, wanted to produce something that would actually be useful for other RV travelers. Our goal was to create a place where you can record all of the great (and sometimes not so great) notes & impressions of your camping spots as you wander about in your RV. We made this book a place to store information but also easily find those notes again later, so we incorporated an easy-to-use referencing system, organized by U.S. state (or you can fill in your own regions). This way, when you need to look back on your notes from two, three, or even 20 years later, you will be able to quickly find them. Here's how to use this book: Log Your Stays: Turn to the first log and start writing! Use our prompted notes and checkoffs to record basic information and then also add your own notes as a refresher for your memory later. We didn't make space for every possible scenario (there are so many!) So, use the extra space to write down anything you think you might want to know later. For instance, you may note more things like low/high water pressure, road noise, or management/staff names & notes. Did you spend way too much on laundry here? Make a note of it! Did you see a sasquatch walk casually through your campground on Friday night? Make a note of it! And share the picture! You did get one, right? Our Referencing System: It's so simple! Let's begin with the Site Logs. Each Site Log has a number in the corner. When you log a campsite, take a second to record that site's Log Number in the back of the book in its reference section. Most reference sections are simply a state. However, some states are larger (and more popular) than others, so we broke them down into smaller regions for even quicker reference. For instance, we've broken Texas down to 5 regions: North, West, Central, Gulf Coast & Panhandle. Maintenance Logs: In the back of the book, there are pages dedicated for recording RV maintenance. Just record the date, service performed, mileage, and any other notes there so you have that information later.

Are you a long-time RVer? Looking back to your first RV trip, you may be reminded of your own experiences and easily relate to their story. Are you new to RVing or just thinking about RVing? You will learn much about the process. Do you love to hear testimonies about the faithfulness of God? You will be encouraged to trust God, even when you face impossible circumstances. Whatever your interest, Bill and Mary's RV trip will be an adventure you will long remember. Before we take you on our journey, I would like to point out that my husband, Bill, and I are not new to travel. Years ago, we determined that we would not wait for retirement to see the USA or visit other countries. Too many people wait until they are no longer working and discover that they are unable to physically or financially travel. We have always been pleased with our decision. Our vacations have been very pleasant and relaxing. Probably the most challenging situations we ever faced were surviving the craziness of making connections at large airports and the time I caught a cold from a fellow passenger on a flight to Hawaii. I was sick for most of the trip. These inconveniences pale in comparison to the challenges we faced on our first RV vacation. Do I think travel will be like this in our future? I pray, not. But if and when the challenges come, I know that God will help us, just as He did on our first RV trip. Also Featured:Bill and Mary's RV TipsWe learned a lot from our first RV trip. Children love books, almost as much as they love camping! "Goodnight, Campsite," is the perfect place for young readers to start a great outdoor adventure and discover camping options along the way - options from tents to various recreational vehicles (RVs). "Goodnight, Campsite," is set in a beautiful nature park. The story follows visitors as they explore the park during the day (hiking, biking, fishing, etc.), and then returns with them to their campsite at night. Preschool-aged children will love the beautiful and colorful pictures - and searching for the squirrel hiding in the pictures. Rhyming text will keep children engaged, as they build sound associations and phonemic skills. Also included in the book is a Campsite Bingo game!
