This thesis studies worker participation, a basic component of industrial organization, in Chile between late 1970 and mid-1973. While the study does not analyze the overall behavior of the Chilean economy during these years, it does in some instances refer to it. Employee participation encompasses the range of mechanisms used to involve the workforce in decisions at all levels of the organization - whether direct or indirect - conducted with employees or through their representatives.
