Finding out that she has an actual sister has been some of the only good news in her life. But when she finds out that she has a brother as well, things take a darker turn. Scott was a lost soul. He was born into the world a bastard and would leave the world the same. But somehow he ends up with a one-way ticket to the underworld, only he isn’t dead. Yet. The only thing he regrets in his short life is not telling Selene how important she was to him. The Void Battle the darkness within herself before it destroys... Everything Mia has always been aware of the things that lurk in the darkness. The weight of her family's age-old obligations as molded her entire life. Now, she’s trapped in a lost world and confronted by the very things that terrify most people. This time, however, things have changed. The balance has shifted, and if she can’t break free, she just might find herself consumed by the darkness. Lucas has returned to the Void to save Mia, but without his own special abilities, he's powerless to help her. The journey to reach her is treacherous, but it's nothing compared to the fight they have ahead. As they ready for the coming battle to fight evil, they must confront not only the darkness that threatens to destroy this realm but also the feelings that are growing between them. Can Lucas find a way to save Mia before the darkness destroys her world? And will their love be enough to overcome the challenges they face? The Stars Can a modern-day Pandora and her destined protector save the world from impending chaos before it's too late? Amy Reed has the worst luck when it comes to love. After being abandoned by her latest boyfriend in the middle of nowhere, she's convinced that happy endings aren't meant for her. It might be the nightmares that have plagued her for years, straining her relationships. Or perhaps it's the chaos that seems to follow her everywhere. Whatever the cause, Amy has sworn off men entirely. To make matters worse, she has recently discovered that she is the reincarnation of Pandora. Yes, that Pandora, the guardian of the legendary box containing both the hopes of humanity and the potential for its destruction. Dante Hicks, a local police officer and keeper of the keys, has always known his purpose. It wasn't until Amy reentered his life that he realized she was the one he was destined to save and protect. However, Amy has done nothing but avoid and torment him. With the world seemingly on the brink of collapse, can Dante persuade Amy to trust him before it's too late?

Because of the Helix Complex and their illicit use of mass sterilization, Earth faces dire consequences. The virulent Zondorae concoction of 2030 made many who could have children into mules. Now middle-aged, Death's children do their best in a world where technology and paranormal powers collide in a mix of tragedy and circumstance. Those in power have raised zombies for the slave trade. Paxton and Deegan Hart are grown and on the radar for those that understand how critical they are for future exploit. The tight-knit circle of friends are forced to network for solutions to the depravity that has taken hold. Can the original group protect a new talent, so dangerous it shouldn't exist? Will the new generation of Randoms find a solution for propagation, or will their power base cannibalize those who choose harmony over greed? DEATH BLINKS: Paxton Hart has used his ability to escape the grasp of the Sanction Police, who want him for the illegal import of the undead. From a parallel plane. Unfortunately, Pax has blinked the entire group to an earth more corrupt than his own, where the undead serve the living in illicit sex trade, and cyborg-human hybrids are slowly taking over humanity. When Deegan and her zombie, Mitchell, become separated from Paxton during a recent blink, they find themselves in a world where soldiers have a form of blinking they call Reflecting. Reflective Lance Ryan pronounces himself judge and jury as he discovers that Deegan has more than Affinity for the Dead, but the dangerous Atomic ability. Deegan just wants to find her family and return to their earth before the Reflectives can punish her for an ability she can't help having; and doesn't want. As the group finds one another, a new reality of fertility and danger rears its head. Do the women stay where they can conceive children who are so rare and risk their lives? Or do they return to an earth where certain persecution awaits them, and a lifetime of barrenness? Should Deegan put Mitchell to rest? Or will he become more than anyone thought possible? Including her. DEATH INCARNATE: Deegan Hart's very existence hangs in the balance. Mitchell, her zombie from a world where Cyborg's roam is about to make a decision that could erase her from not just her home earth—but every earth. This imaginative and empowering book explores the ways that our emotions entangle us with climate change and offers strategies for engaging with climate anxiety that can contribute to social transformation. Climate educator Blanche Verlie draws on feminist, more-than-human and affect theories to argue that people in high-carbon societies need to learn to ‘live-with’ climate change: to appreciate that human lives are interconnected with the climate, and to cultivate the emotional capacities needed to respond to the climate crisis. Learning to Live with Climate Change explores the cultural, interpersonal and sociological dimensions of ecological distress. The book engages with Australia’s 2019/2020 ‘Black Summer’ of bushfires and smoke, undergraduate students’ experiences of climate change, and contemporary activist movements such as the youth strikes for climate. Verlie outlines how we can collectively attune to, live with, and respond to the unsettling realities of climate collapse while counteracting domineering ideals of ‘climate control.’ This impressive and timely work is both deeply philosophical and immediately practical. Its accessible style and real-world relevance ensure it will be valued by those researching, studying and working in diverse fields such as sustainability education, climate communication, human geography, cultural studies, environmental sociology and eco-psychology, as well as the broader public. For young people, the space of the drama classroom can be a space for deep learning as they struggle across difference to create something together with common purpose. Collaborating across institutions, theatres, and community spaces, the research in Hope in a Collapsing World mobilizes theatre to build its methodology and create new data with young people as they seek the language of performance to communicate their worries, fears, and dreams to a global network of researchers and a wider public. A collaboration between a social scientist and a playwright and using both ethnographic study and playwriting, Hope in a Collapsing World represents a groundbreaking hybrid format of research text and original script – titled Towards Youth: A Play on Radical Hope – for reading, experimentation, and performance.

This thesis focuses on the study and characterization of entanglement and nonlocal correlations constrained under symmetries. It includes original results as well as detailed methods and explanations for a number of different threads of research: positive partial transpose (PPT) entanglement in the symmetric states; a novel, experimentally friendly method to detect nonlocal correlations in many-body systems; the non-equivalence between entanglement and nonlocality; and elemental monogamies of correlations. Entanglement and nonlocal correlations constitute two fundamental resources for quantum information processing, as they allow novel tasks that are otherwise impossible in a classical scenario. However, their elusive characterization is still a central problem in quantum information theory. The main reason why such a fundamental issue remains a formidable challenge lies in the exponential growth in complexity of the Hilbert space as well as the space of multipartite correlations. Physical systems of interest, on the other hand, display symmetries that can be exploited to reduce this complexity, opening the possibility that some of these questions become tractable for such systems.
