DOWNLOAD EBOOKA design is given for a flexible and durable vacuum melting furnace, capable of melting and casting five to fifty pounds of metal under pressure of the order of 1 micron (Hg). The furnace consists of two stainless steel watercooled shells, the upper containing the melting and the pouring crucible, and the lower section containing the mold. The lower section is heated by a resistance heater; in the upper section, either resistance or induction heating is used. A readily accessible mounting is described, as is a mode of operation.
