Clay and Brian Singh begin looking into Pontiac and learn that it is part of Omega Security Systems; a multinational arms dealer fronting for a counter espionage organization. However, a power struggle is underway at Pontiac and Clay is contacted by Pontiacs COO Darius Kent. Kent is concerned that an advanced unstable biological weapon is being developed at the companies lab in Bosnia by the companys president, the Colonel. Kent helps Clay and Brian infiltrate the lab using the newly developed counter insurgency macro skin. They pose as two of the companies researchers recently transferred to the lab. Here they are confronted with ultimate biological weapon, the Alastor. Clay and Brian are able to download the Alastor research and escape the lab. Now the two must get back to Dallas with the data intact hopefully in time. The initial field test of the weapon is only days away.

This book has been nine years in the making; it is derived from court documents, grand jury testimony excerpts and police reports on arrests, investigations and prosecutions associated with the Amherst and Hinton drug-testing labs. Through these documents I discovered that the media and government officials were not giving the people of Massachusetts a true picture of events. Annie Dookhan rigged the evidence she was supposed to be objectively testing to ensure her friends in the DA’s offices and police departments around the state got what they wanted: positive test results that forced defendants to take a plea deal or stipulate to all charges. She was not alone; the drug-addicted chemist, Sonja Farak, was equally culpable, and officers of state agencies both colluded in test-rigging and worked to cover up the scandal when it broke. The evidence is laid out in court documents and the words of the chemists themselves, in email correspondence obtained through hundreds of public records requests. This is a story of government malfeasance and corruption on a shocking level; the public has a right to know what their government does when they think no one is looking. Some of this story has been presented to the public in news and magazine articles and even a Netflix documentary (How to Fix a Drug Scandal), but to date no publication has told the public the whole truth of what happened at the Hinton and Amherst drug labs.

Lord Amherst’s diplomatic mission to the Qing Court in 1816 was the second British embassy to China. The first led by Lord Macartney in 1793 had failed to achieve its goals. It was thought that Amherst had better prospects of success, but the intense diplomatic encounter that greeted his arrival ended badly. Amherst never appeared before the Jiaqing emperor and his embassy was expelled from Peking on the day it arrived. Historians have blamed Amherst for this outcome, citing his over-reliance on the advice of his Second Commissioner, Sir George Thomas Staunton, not to kowtow before the emperor. Detailed analysis of British sources reveal that Amherst was well informed on the kowtow issue and made his own decision for which he took full responsibility. Success was always unlikely because of irreconcilable differences in approach. China’s conduct of foreign relations based on the tributary system required submission to the emperor, thus relegating all foreign emissaries and the rulers they represented to vassal status, whereas British diplomatic practice was centred on negotiation and Westphalian principles of equality between nations. The Amherst embassy’s failure revised British assessments of China and led some observers to believe that force, rather than diplomacy, might be required in future to achieve British goals. The Opium War of 1840 that followed set a precedent for foreign interference in China, resulting in a century of ‘humiliation’. This resonates today in President Xi Jinping’s call for ‘National Rejuvenation’ to restore China’s historic place at the centre of a new Sino-centric global order.

America searched for an answer to "The Labor Question" during the Progressive Era in an effort to avoid the unrest and violence that flared so often in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.
