In the preparation of the United States budget for the fiscal year 1954 the Secretary of the Treasury assumed a personal income level of. $275 billion for the calendar year 1953, percent above the level of $268 billion in 1952. The economic conditions in the United States and Canada have been quite similar since the outbreak of hostilities in Korea.
