Experiment Number One is a story that centers on a character I created during my time in the Marine Corps. Creating this character has helped to take my thoughts away from the stress of day to day life in the military. Honestly, I don't know where I would be without my characters giving me an out. With this, my goal is to make a manga out of this story; and ultimately, I would love to see this made into an anime. For the time being, I just want to share with you all a little piece of what kept me going. The main character goes by the name of Blade Joker, formally known as Staff Sergeant Brian Brass. It's a bit repetitive, but it is something that has stuck with me for a while. He is an veteran who was experimented on by an enemy during war time. During this time he was forced to endure immense pain both physically and psychologically. Because of the experimentation that happened to him, Blade was manipulated by a doctor into being a weapon for the enemy. Blade spends several years working as a puppet for the enemy before finally being able to break free from the doctor and her experiments. Following this, he starts a family and finds himself being the owner of a multi-million dollar business that makes high tech gear and devices. During his free time he helps his old friend Drevo solve cases that come up on the police database. Everything seems perfect in his life until some trouble stirs up in the shadows.
In the summer of 1993, James Wood brought terror to the unassuming town of Pocatello, Idaho. Wood, the stranger in town, looked quite ordinary. The truth came to light only after the abduction and murder of Jeralee Underwood, the 11-year-old daughter of a devout Mormon family. Author Terry Adams teams up with lead investigator Scott Shaw and forensic psychologist Mary Brooks-Mueller to take readers behind the headlines into the heart of the Idaho investigation. Filled with magic and fierce emotion, Lisa Jensen's multilayered novel will make you question all you think you know about beauty, beastliness, and happily ever after. But when the chevalier's cruelty is revealed, Lucie vows to see him suffer. A wisewoman grants her wish, with a spell that transforms Jean-Loup into monstrous-looking Beast, reflecting the monster he is inside. But Beast is nothing like the chevalier. Jean-Loup would never patiently tend his roses; Jean-Loup would never attempt poetry; Jean-Loup would never express remorse for the wrong done to Lucie. Gradually, Lucie realizes that Beast is an entirely different creature from the handsome chevalier, with a heart more human than Jean-Loup’s ever was. Lucie dares to hope that noble Beast has permanently replaced the cruel Jean-Loup — until an innocent beauty arrives at Beast’s château with the power to break the spell.
