So what is the unity of faith? If faith then is the substance of things hoped for and the essence of things not seen, then what really is faith in God? Well, to be really, really honest with you, faith, I mean real faith, is trusting in only what God can do, when we have done all that we can do, does that mean that God will do everything for us? No, not at all, but it does mean that God is more than willing to do what you and I started out to do, that is why Spiritual direction is important.
“Our Spiritual Responsibility Unfolded” is an “INVITATION” to the world to receive Christ Jesus. A book of revealed knowledge on how the whole world could be enjoying life as God intended. Once we understand that we are spirit beings created by God, and created to operate like God, we will begin to pay less attention to our bodies, and more attention to the spiritual power we have to operate the body and stay on top! The prophet Brigham Young taught the restored gospel of Jesus Christ in a basic, practical way that gave inspiration and hope to the Saints struggling to build a home in the wilderness. Though more than a century has now passed, his words are still fresh and appropriate for us today as we continue the work of building the kingdom of God. President Young declared that as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we possess the “doctrine of life and salvation for all the honest-in-heart” (DBY, 7). He promised that those who receive the gospel in their hearts will have awakened “within them a desire to know and understand the things of God more than they ever did before in their lives” and will begin to “inquire, read and search and when they go to their Father in the name of Jesus he will not leave them without a witness” (DBY, 450). This book reflects the desire of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles to deepen the doctrinal understanding of Church members and to awaken within them a greater desire to know the things of God. It will inspire and motivate individuals, priesthood quorums, and Relief Society classes to inquire, read, search, and then go to their Father in Heaven for a witness of the truth of these teachings. Each chapter contains two sections—“Teachings of Brigham Young” and “Suggestions for Study.” The first section consists of extracts from Brigham Young’s sermons to the early Saints. Each statement has been referenced, and the original spelling and punctuation have been preserved; however, the sources cited will not be readily available to most members. These original sources are not necessary to have in order to effectively study or teach from this book. Members need not purchase additional references and commentaries to study or teach these chapters. The text provided in this book, accompanied by the scriptures, is sufficient for instruction. Members should prayerfully read and study President Young’s teachings in order to gain new insights into gospel principles and discover how those principles apply to their everyday lives. By faithfully and prayerfully studying these selections, Latter-day Saints will have a greater understanding of gospel principles and will more fully appreciate the profound and inspired teachings of this great prophet. The second section of each chapter offers a series of questions that will encourage thoughtful contemplation, personal application, and discussion of President Young’s teachings. Members should refer to and carefully reread his words on the principle being discussed. Deep and prayerful study of these teachings will inspire members to greater personal commitment and will help them resolve to follow the teachings of the Savior, Jesus Christ. If individuals and families prayerfully follow the principles in this book, they will be blessed and inspired to greater dedication and spirituality, as were the early Saints who heard these words directly from the lips of the “Lion of the Lord” (HC, 7:434)—the prophet, seer, and revelator, President Brigham Young.

The serious student of the Bible, and indeed all who would strive to please God, must deal with both responsibility and authority in their spiritual lives. A failure to understand or accept responsibility results in the failure to carry out the work which God has designated to be done. A lack of understanding of and respect for authority has been the basic cause of every departure from truth and the resulting divisions in the Lord's church. All religious denominations have come into existence because of these factors. These lessons have been prepared with the hope that they will help Bible students to accomplish three goals: 1. More thoroughly understand the responsibilities which every church and individual has towards both God and man. 2. Recognize the need for authority from God in every spiritual matter. 3. Learn how to apply the principles of biblical authority in the lives of both individuals and congregations. In order to learn how to apply the biblical principles which will be discussed in this study, after the prepared material has been discussed, the individual or class should examine many specific examples of doctrines, practices, and works. Our goal is that every student will then be able personally to determine the scriptural authority for everything that he or she believes and practices.
The reason why readers would be so interested is because of the spirituality: Learning the spiritual side of life, how good God really is, and how to include the word of God into the equation; in every area of their lives, whether it be financially, physically, mentally, by faith, in which we walk by: Faith is simply believing that God is our source, and not the world economy. To understand that God has given us very things that we need to accommodate us in this life. Most things, we can do for ourselves because of the abilities that God has bestowed upon us; but the Heavenly things, we have to declare and decree from Heaven, such as when we pray; whatsoever we pray for, believe that we already received them, and then you will have them. You have to trust God first, before you receive whatever it is that you ask for in Jesus name. It is always have to be in Jesus name, if not in Jesus name, then you might have a delay, you see, that's how the gospel works. Jesus died for us to have the things that we are so deserving of, all we have to do is believe it, declare it, and decree it, and it shall be given to us. But, if you dont spend time in the word of God, then you have no clue what to expect, you have no knowledge of all the promises that God said yes to; there is over seventy seven hundred promises in the Bible that God said yes to, we just have to believe, and say yes to them in order to receive the promises of God; you see, it's simple when you know the word of God for your lives. I've study the word of God for the last ten years of my life. So I am a witness to the fact. And here's another fact, I use to wake up every morning with back pain, I would stumble to my feet, but, once I'd reach for my bible and started to read it, before I could get through the first paragraph the pain had vanished. Once I'd learn how to pray and study the bible, I haven't taken a pain pill since February of 2010. I would like for everyone to experience the goodness of God and the example of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. If only I knew back then, what I know now, I would have been committed myself to Jesus. I just pray that everyone will learn to give their lives over to Jesus. So that's how much I think that my book will be an inspiration to others. So yes, I am completely satisfied with my work, so I approve it in every way for publishing. It is a guide to a loving and healthy life and world. We all want to have this kind of life (physically and spiritually), so we should know the true laws that guide us to achieve the life and evolvement God meant for us to have. Universal Spiritual Laws (USL) are the unbreakable God given laws that created and govern both realms of our existence. This book presents the primary USL (Love) and numerous secondary laws that all directly relate to the primary law. Over many generations, unfortunately, mankind has replaced God’s USL with their own self-serving, controlling, ego and greed based laws, leaving the world in the condition it is today. The USL were given to me by a highly evolved Goddess of Motherhood, Mercy and Compassion, Quan Yin (see depiction on back cover) through an ordained minister and a very evolved and gifted certified medium, Rev. Beverly Burdick-Carey. The spiritual source by-passes the human negative thinking, ego and desire for power and control and gives only TRUTH. Your thoughts, words and deeds, whether positive or negative, cannot escape USL and determine our physical and spiritual life and evolvement which is our purpose here on earth. Since we create our own life’s path, follow the USL in a positive way to avoid having to repeat needed life lessons and speed your evolvement and have a more ideal life. How you follow the USL is your choice. It is also extremely important to know and understand that WE ARE ALL A PART OF GOD not APART FROM GOD and GOD IS ALL and LOVE. Good health is very important in life and with forty years of medical and spiritual study and practice, I have learned that our life's path and health are created by our own thoughts, words, deeds and beliefs. Therefore, I chose to briefly cover the healing aspects of each USL to help you improve your health and healing. Use the knowledge, wisdom and truths given to me that comprises this book to better your physical and spiritual evolvement, healing and life. You can summarize this book in three words, UNCONDITIONAL LOVE and TRUTH, but you need to learn, study and follow the USL to spiritually evolve and benefit from them.
