The purpose of this book is to encourage state officials to consider opportunities for greater use of the private sector by giving examples of actual experiences drawn from a wide variety of states. Services covered are corrections, parks and recreation, human services, employment and training, and transportation. Private sector approaches addressed are contracting, concessions, public/private partnership, and the use of volunteers. A companion volume to Building Innovation into Program Reviews.
