As a sport manuscript hunting belongs chiefly to the amateur, as a useful art chiefly to the bookseller and as a handmaid to science chiefly to the scholar, but the librarian knows something of the pleasures of each; the joy of bag ging a specimen perfect as to vellum, handwriting and orna ment, the keen delight in drawing a prize in the lottery of the market and the exquisite satisfaction of finding that a given ms.
