This book features lyrics I wrote in 1991 when I was 17 years old and not doing much so what else would I do but write 131 songs. I was listening to more artists, grunge was in, and times were changing but my lyrics stayed the same. Lyrics from a young, naïve seventeen-year-old. The book also contains some witty one liners and anecdotes about what was happening, who I wanted to be, or who I had a crush on. They are not perfect, nor meant to be, they’re just the musings of a young teenage girl with crushes and dreams. Enjoy!

Described as the "life and soul of British contemporary music", Jane Manning is an internationally celebrated English concert and opera soprano. In this new follow-up to her highly regarded New Vocal Repertory, Volumes I and II, she provides a seasoned expert's guidance and insight into the vocal genre she calls home. Vocal Repertoire for the Twenty-First Century spans the late middle-20th century through the second decade of the 21st. Manning's comprehensive selection of contemporary art songs ranges from the avant-garde to the more easily accessible, including substantial song cycles, shorter encore pieces, and songs suitable for auditions and competitions. The two-volume guide presents expertly-informed selections tailored to particular voice types. Each of the 160 selections is accompanied by a highly detailed performance guide, music examples, levels of difficulty, and a brief encapsulation of vocal characteristics or challenges contained in the piece. A supplemental companion website provides composer biographies and an up-to-date list of recommended recordings. With a focus on younger composers in addition to prominent figures, Manning encourages singers to refresh and expand their recital repertoire into less familiar territory, and discover the rewards therein. Volume 2 features works written from 2000 onwards, including pieces from contemporary composers Mohammed Fairouz ("Annabel Lee"), Missy Mazzoli ("As Long as We Live"), Judith Weir ("The Voice of Desire"), and Raymond Yiu ("The Earth and Every Common Sight").

This volume is the second of the thirteen in preparation that will offer the first complete scholarly edition of the poetry and music of Guillaume de Machaut, the foremost practitioner of these related arts at the end of the Middle Ages in France. It provides a freshly prepared edition based on the most reliable manuscript of two of Machaut's best known dits, the Remede de Fortune (Remedy for Fortune) and the Confort d'ami (Consolation from a Friend), both of which adapt the central ideas of Boethian philosophy to the love poetry tradition. The French texts are accompanied by facing English translations, and the musical passages are presented in situ in a performance-accessible form.

90 Masterpieces You Must Read (Vol.2) stands as a monumental anthology that bridges the expanses of literary history, style, and thematic depth, bringing together an extraordinary collection of works that have shaped and reflected the human condition across centuries. This volume is intricately curated to showcase the diversity of literary expression, ranging from the epic poetry of Homer to the existential musings of Friedrich Nietzsche, the nuanced social realities captured by Jane Austen to the speculative visions of H. G. Wells. Standout pieces within this collection underscore the anthology's capacity to offer insights into the complexities of love, the struggles for identity, and the ceaseless quest for meaning amidst societal upheaval. The anthology also highlights key movements in literary history, providing readers with a panoramic view of the evolution of narrative form and thematic exploration. The authors and editors represented in this collection bring a rich mosaic of cultural, historical, and personal backgrounds to the theme of the anthology. From the philosophical discourses of Confucius and Laozi to the pioneering feminist narratives of Charlotte Perkins Gilman and Kate Chopin, these works collectively offer a multifaceted examination of human society, thought, and emotion. The anthology does not merely present a historical cross-section of literary movements; rather, it weaves together the Enlightenment's rationalism, Romanticism's glorification of emotion, the biting critique of Realism, and the introspective depth of Modernism, among others. This convergence of diverse voices serves to enrich the reader's understanding of the overarching themes, underscoring the universality of human experience across time and place. 90 Masterpieces You Must Read (Vol.2) is an essential addition to the library of any scholar, student, or enthusiast of literature. It offers a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in a range of literary styles, themes, and historical contexts, all within a single volume. For those seeking to broaden their literary horizons or deepen their understanding of the mosaic of human experience as expressed through literature, this collection serves as a gateway to the myriad ways in which storytelling has captured the essence of being. The anthology invites readers to engage in a dialogue with the past, to reflect on the present, and to ponder the future through the enduring power of written word.
