A story as timeless as the Great Rocky Mountains, an abandoned passion is rekindled as Pam King embarks on the adventure of a lifetime. Born of a generation that denied women equal access to career choices, she never lost sight of her goal. Join this feisty grandmother as she proves that age is relative and gender is a box to be checked on a drivers license. Like all Mary Katherine Arensbergs other books; I just loved this one. Pam King is such a strong woman! Cathy Columbus.OH

Seven Generations is a historically accurate novel of successive generations of a Shoshone family from 1825-1910. It is told from the point of view of seven fascinating characters entwined in a colorful and dramatically changing world. There is one part for each generation with each part written in a different style. First, Trees-Told-It tells of a life of turmoil until being moved to a reservation. In the second part the daughter of Trees-Told-It becomes a Mormon in the 1880s. Part three is the memory of the grandson, Rides-In-Laughter of Indian boarding school and WWI. The main character in the fourth generation marries a Spokane woman and is present for the building of the dams on the Columbia River. Next, two descendants of Trees-Told-It meet each other in New York City to celebrate the end of WWII. In part six, the family's US Marines twin brothers fight in Operation Enduring Freedom. The last chapter tells of a thirteen year-old girl living today on the Wind River Reservation.

Cathy Alexander’s journey began with a dream of becoming a doctor, but when she joined the Army and was sent to Vietnam, her dream quickly becomes a nightmare. As a nurse at the 95th Evac Hospital, she witnesses the brutal realities of war. She perseveres and graduates from medical school. Despite her achievements, the Vietnam War left a lasting mark on her psyche. She must confront the memories she’s been trying to forget. Will she overcome her past and find a way to move forward? "Angel’s book is a vivid depiction of the horrors of war. You find yourself drawn in from the very first page. Her character development puts you right inside their thoughts, feelings, and actions. Angel writes so you feel the intensity of the battles, the despair of the wounded as well as the survivors who process the guilt of surviving." - Patti Hendrix, Nurse, 85th Evac Hospital
