The series Alphabet: Consonants (21 book set) has all of the hard consonants, including the hard sound of y, with the sound at the beginning. However, since the letter x is typically found at the end of words, the words in this book end with the letter x. Each short vowel gets a book in the series Alphabet: Short Vowels (5 book set). The vowel-consonant-e pattern (aka "Bossy e" or "Magic e") and the two vowel sounds of the letter y are in the series Long Vowels (7 book set). The series Consonant Teams (6 book set) has books for the digraphs ch, ck, sh, tch, and wh.
