This report presents an assessment, based on data available during the past year, of the future supply capability from resources in the ground for some of the major mineral commodities produced in Canada. its purpose is to determine whether resources are being developed for production at rates sufficient to maintain Canada's position as a major supplier of mineral commodities. Resource trends for 7 metals (copper, nickel, lead, zinc, molybdenum, silver and gold) are looked at in detail; other commodities are addressed briefly.
