DOWNLOAD EBOOKFrom the end of World War II to the 1970s, neo-Nazis and other fascist groups relied heavily on rituals and symbols borrowed from the Third Reich. Goodrick-Clarke argues that in response to an ascendant globalization and neo-liberalism, European and American neo-Nazi ideology significantly changed in character, finding inspiration in Aryan cults, aristocratic paganism, anti-Semitic demonology, Eastern religion, and the occult, resulting in a new quasi-mysticism typified by the use of the symbol of the Black Sun as a mystical source of energy capable of regenerating the so-called "Aryan" race. He explores the growth and development of the religious ideology of the movement focusing on such neo-Nazi philosophers as Wilhelm Landig, the popularizer of new volkisch movements; Julio Evola, who incorporates Hindu caste hierarchy ideas into his doctrine of a Gnostic-Manichaean "Esoteric Hitlerism"; theorists of Nazi- Satanism; and a number of others. DOWNLOAD EBOOKThe “Events after Homer”, described by Quintus Smyrnaeus in the third century AD in his Greek epic Posthomerica, are an attempt to bridge the gap between the Iliad and the Odyssey , and to combine the various scattered reports of the battle for Troy into a single tale: the fate of Achilles, Ajax, Paris and the Amazon Penthesileia, the intervention of Neoptolemos and the story from the Trojan horse to the destruction of the city. The volume presented here summarizes the results of the first international conference on Quintus Smyrnaeus.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKA new translation into American English from the original manuscript of Nietzsche's 1883 Also sprach Zarathustra. This edition is bilingual- the original text is included in the back as reference material behind the English translation. This is volume 6 in The Complete Works of Friedrich Nietzsche from Livraria Press. This chronological, systematic set of Nietzsche's works is the first ever bilingual "Hauptwerke" or complete major works of Nietzsche published in English & the original German. Zarathustra’s journey, an inverted Pilgrim’s Progress, is a path out of the “Backworld” of Metaphysics through Nihilism to a new existence which is post-human in order to survive the advent of Nihilism on a post-theistic world.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKAs environmental destruction begins to seriously affect humans, it has become increasingly relevant to reflect on the essential elements of the Jewish and Christian theologies of creation. The essays in this volume explore key aspects of creation theology, which poses the question of the origin of the world and of man. Creation theology is rooted in the concept of man who owes his existence to God and who is placed in a cosmos which God created as “good”. At the same time, the essays show that even back in antiquity, the creation discussion held high potential for ideological criticism.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKBeing the first monographic study of this kind in the field of Assyriology, this book comprises an investigation of Ancient Mesopotamian concepts of the human person. Concentrating on Akkadian cuneiform texts from the 2nd and 1st millennium BC, the author examines the characteristics and attributes attached to human beings and the notions of the person as a composite being through a semantic analysis of Akkadian terms for the body, body parts and aspects of the self, which can be termed "souls". Through an examination of a wide range of textual sources and an interdisciplinary approach, this study shows that the Mesopotamian views of personhood share amazing similarities with those of the neighbouring ancient cultures, but often differ from our own. “...in short, as a piece of modern Assyriological scholarship it is very well done and a tribute to its author’s capabilities and accomplishments.” Benjamin R. Foster, Yale University
