DOWNLOAD EBOOKMathias Hook came to Pennsylvania from Maryland in the early 1780s. He was born about 1747. He bought and sold land throughout the area and also had transactions in Brooke county, Virginia. Hookstown, Pennsylvania was named after Mathias Hook. He died on 27 April 1836 at the age of 89. His wife Catherine died sometime before he did. They were parents of fifteen children. Descendants live in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and elsewhere.
