This book offers a current state of the art in analysis and modeling of creep phenomena with applications to the structural mechanics. It presents the some presentations from the IUTAM-Symposium series "Creep in Structures", which held in Magdeburg (Germany) in September 2023, and it discusses many advances and new results in the field. These are for example: interlinks of mechanics with materials science in multi-scale analysis of deformation and damage mechanisms over a wide range of stresses and temperature; development and analysis of new alloys for (ultra)high-temperature applications; formulation and calibration of advanced constitutive models of inelastic behavior under transient loading and temperature conditions; development of efficient procedures and machine learning techniques for identification of material parameters in advanced constitutive laws; introduction of gradient-enhanced and non-local theories to account for damage and fracture processes; and application of new experimental methods, such as digital image correlation, for the analysis of inelastic deformation under multi-axial stress state.

These are the proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Machinery, Materials Science and Engineering Applications ( MMSE 2012 ) held on the 16 and 17th June, 2012, in Wuhan, China. The object was to strengthen national academic exchanges and cooperation in the field, to promote the rapid development of machinery, materials science and engineering application and to improve China's machinery more effectively. Review from Book News Inc.: Peer-reviewed papers from a June 2012 conference are presented here in two large sections on materials science and machinery and engineering applications. Papers in the materials science section deal with topics such as synthesis of L-ascorbic acid cellulose ester, tribological behaviors of polymer-based composites under alkaline conditions, and fine cemented carbide particles prepared with activated tungsten oxide. Other areas explored in this section include 3D nonlinear contact FEM analysis of a U-ring seal structure, and finite element analysis of metal flow for finishing grooves in a hot continuous rolling bar. The section on machinery and engineering applications describes recent work in areas such as finite element analysis for hydraulic support, design of a shaft assignment radial piston pump, laser quenching paths of a numerical control algorithm, and physical simulation of virtual CNC turning. The editor is affiliated with Wuhan University of Science and Technology, China.

This work-book will guide you safely, in step-by-step descriptions, through every detail of the NMR experiments within, beginning with 1D routine experiments and ending with a series of advanced 3D experiments on a protein: ? Which experiment can best yield the desired information? ? How must the chosen experiment be performed? ? How does one read the required information from the spectrum? ? How does this particular pulse sequence work? ? Which other experiments give similar information? This third edition of the book, following its two highly successful predecessors, has been revised and expanded to 206 experiments. They are organized in 15 chapters, covering test procedures and routine spectra, variable temperature measurements, the use of auxiliary reagents, 1D multipulse experiments, spectra of heteronuclides, and the application of selective pulses. The second and third dimensions are introduced using pulsed field gradients, and experiments on solid state materials are described. A key part describes 3D experiments on the protein ubiquitin with 76 amino acids. What is new in this third edition? 1. 24 new experiments have been inserted into the 14 chapters that were in the 2nd edition, e.g., alpha/beta-SELINCOR-TOCSY, WET, DOSY, ct-COSY, HMSC, HSQC with adiabatic pulses, HETLOC. J-resolved HMBC, (1,1)- and (1,n)-ADEQUATE, STD, REDOR, and HR-MAS. 2. 20 new protein NMR experiments have been specially devised and are collected in the newly added Chapter 15, ProteinNMR, for which one needs a special model sample: fully 13C- and 15N-labeled human ubiquitin. Techniques used include the constant time principle, the PEP method, filters, gradient selection, and the echo/anti-echo procedure. The guide has been written by experts in this field, following the principle of learning by doing: all the experiments have been specially performed for this book, exactly as described and shown in the spectra that are reproduced. Being a reference source and work-book for the NMR laboratory as well as a textbook, it is a must for every scientist working with NMR, as well as for students preparing for their laboratory courses

The fourth Australian edition of Kozier and Erb's Fundamentals of Nursing has undergone a rigorous review and writing process and reflects the contemporary changes in the regulation of nursing. It continues to focus on the three core philosophies of person-centred care, critical thinking and clinical reasoning and cultural safety. These three philosophical foundations are interwoven in a meaningful way through each chapter. With an evidence-based approach, students will develop skills in problem solving, critical thinking, clinical reasoning and learn to care for people in ways that signify respect, acceptance, empathy, connectedness, cultural sensitivity and genuine concern. MyLab Nursing can be packaged with this edition to engage students and allow them to apply their knowledge, strengthen their understanding of key concepts and develop critical decision making skills. Note: This edition provides relevant nursing diagnoses written in a way that is reflective of Australia nursing practice and nomenclature and does not refer to NANDA taxonomy of diagnostic terminology.
