She received a B.A. in Music from the University of Oregon where she studied piano with Victor Steinhardt. She also did graduate studies in composition with Dr. Robert Kyr. Julie maintains a private piano teaching studio and has released two solo piano albums: "Painting in Sound" and "A Peace-Filled Christmas."
