A compassionate, shame-free guide for your darkest days “A one-of-a-kind book . . . to read for yourself or give to a struggling friend or loved one without the fear that depression and suicidal thoughts will be minimized, medicalized or over-spiritualized.”—Kay Warren, cofounder of Saddleback Church What happens when loving Jesus doesn’t cure you of depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts? You might be crushed by shame over your mental illness, only to be told by well-meaning Christians to “choose joy” and “pray more.” So you beg God to take away the pain, but nothing eases the ache inside. As darkness lingers and color drains from your world, you’re left wondering if God has abandoned you. You just want a way out. But there’s hope. In I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die, Sarah J. Robinson offers a healthy, practical, and shame-free guide for Christians struggling with mental illness. With unflinching honesty, Sarah shares her story of battling depression and fighting to stay alive despite toxic theology that made her afraid to seek help outside the church. Pairing her own story with scriptural insights, mental health research, and simple practices, Sarah helps you reconnect with the God who is present in our deepest anguish and discover that you are worth everything it takes to get better. Beautifully written and full of hard-won wisdom, I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die offers a path toward a rich, hope-filled life in Christ, even when healing doesn’t look like what you expect.

In Memory of Rebecca Ann Leighow 2/18/1951 - 10/17/2007 OVERVIEW Two of the most profound uncertainties that man can ponder are: what is the meaning of life, and what is the meaning of death? Many would say that the answers to these questions are unknowable and too mysterious to be comprehended. Reverend Thomas Leighow believes however, that God has given us these answers, contained within the pages of the Bible. The only way we can live in peace and harmony with death, is by having a true and correct perspective of what death actually is. Death can only be properly understood when it is viewed through the eyes of the very Creator of life and death – the God of the Bible. In Dying to Live With God, Rev. Leighow opens the doors to understanding life and death as it should be understood - from God’s eternal perspective. The reality of death, and the meaning of death, can only truly come from the mind of the One who set death in place. Death is not just a by-product of life, rather, death is a necessary component of the divine plan of a sovereign God who holds the power over life and death. For those who live in fear of death, or for those who have not recovered after the loss of a loved one, this book will give you an understanding of death that will provide you with a blessed assurance and comfort to face your own “valley of the shadow of death.”

It can be read alone or in a group, as it serves as a companion and fosters compassionate care and conversation through deep grief. I Got My Life Back The author was called to preach the Gospel in 1974 and has served the Lord as a pastor, church planter, and chaplain. In 2016, his life was changed when he developed heart disease that resulted in a triple bypass surgery. After recovering from surgery, he was regaining his health back when he developed heart failure that took him into the valley of death. Prior to Christmas of 2017, the author had a divine encounter with Dr. Wencker, the medical director of Advanced Heart Failure Program at Baylor, Scott & White Hospital in Dallas, Texas, and was hospitalized to determine if he was a heart transplant candidate. The author was admitted into the heart transplant program at Baylor Hospital, Dallas, Texas, and in March of 2018 had a successful heart transplant and currently recovering. After awakening from transplant surgery his first words were "I Got My Life Back," which is the title of this book. The author writes of his experience and journey from heart disease to the heart transplant. The author writes this book from the biblical world view and not the world view that is so prevalent today. During his journey through the valley of death the author discovered that God is a God of infinite love and tender mercies, and that he hears and answers prayers and still performs miracles today. Because of His belief and faith in Christ the author is a living miracle and a testimony of the love, grace, and power of God. (A portion of the proceeds of the book sales will be donated to the Baylor Heart Transplant Center [Financial Services] to help heart transplant patients with their medical expenses.)
