That project, which is a basin development program of the Department of the Interior, has its basic authority in the Flood Control Act of 1944. This report presents summarized information of the background and detailed studies on which specific problems were considered and recommendations made for the management and tenure of the public domain lands. The purpose of the detailed study of each tract is to promote its use in the best interests of the public, compatible with proper conservation practices. Public agencies, both federal and local, interested in utilizing these lands are told of their location, descrip tion, and prospective utility by two means; this report, and the detailed accounts of each isolated tract.
