This is the 2nd Edition of John Wesley's Tracts on Prayer published by furocious studios (revised Aug 2017). The contents of this book are similar to those found in The Works of the Rev John Wesley - Volume Xi used for the first edition. Used in this edition are the original booklets with substantive capitalization found in early 18th Century. The main difference in this book from the original booklets is the modern text-type rather than Caslon. Other than that this book keeps the original style especially the European English spellings. These editions are preserved here in flavour with John Wesley's Prayer Collection. They have nice little surprises like Wesley's Preface. Little touches like that keep this book from being redundant with other collections of Wesley's work. There are also Hymns added to the collection of Prayers for Children and a tiny delightful booklet called GRACES perfect to make this book complete.

This is the Student Hard Cover 2017 third edition - Now with John Wesley's Tracts on Prayer. ""I BELIEVE there is no LITURGY in the World, either in ancient or modern language, which breathes more of a solid, scriptural, rational Piety, than the COMMON PRAYER of the CHURCH of ENGLAND . . ."" John Wesley. Despite those words, Wesley realized that in its entirety the BCP needed to be modified to fit the practices of the Methodist societies, especially for those congregants living abroad in the new frontier.

A Plain Account of Christian Perfection by John Wesley is about the theory of perfection according to Christian theology. Excerpt: "1. WHAT I purpose in the following pages is, to give a plain and distinct account of the steps by which I was led, during the course of many years, to embrace the doctrine of Christian Perfection. This I owe to the serious part of mankind; those who desire to know all the truth as it is in Jesus. And these only are concerned with questions of this kind. To these I would nakedly declare the thing as it is, endeavoring all along to show, from one period to another, both what I thought, and why I thought so."

A careful student of church liturgies, John Wesley created this book for use in the Methodist churches of North America in order that the young movement would have access to reliable liturgy. This book is, in its own sense, a masterpiece of solid doctrine, Wesleyan inspiration, and liturgical practice. "The Sunday Service of Methodists in North America" has been available as a reprint of the original book for many years. However, this edition does what others have not done until now: Rather than photocopying the pages of the original book, we have painstakingly typed each word and character to match the original text, and formatted the book for contemporary usage (included an updated and easily readable font), while maintaining Wesley's own language, spelling, and grammar.

John Wesley bequeathed his manuscripts to three trusted colleagues with the expectation that they would prepare, write, and publish a suitable biography after his death. An ex-Methodist preacher, John Hampson, beat them into print with an unflattering portrait of Methodism's founder. The book was published in June of 1791, only three months after Wesley was buried. To counter this publication, Thomas Coke and Henry Moore rushed into print an "authorized" and more flattering account. Their Life of John Wesley was first published in April 1792, and the authors had high hopes for their 542-page book. By showing "how faithfully, zealously, and prudently Wesley labored" may thereby be more abundantly stimulated to be followers of him, as he was of Christ."A year later the first and only known American edition was published in Philadelphia by John Dickins who only three years earlier had begun the publishing house for the Methodist Episcopal Church. Twenty-three know editions/printings kept the book available in England until 1864. We are pleased to reprint the first American printing by Philadelphia printer Parry Hall for John Dickins in 1793.
