He purchased a tract of land known as Morris' Point in 1671 for lumber for ship building. His great grandson, Amos Morris, was the first to owner to live on the farm. He married Lydia Camp in 1745. They had twelve children, 1746-1773. Descendants lived in Connecticut, New York, and elsewhere.
