La pragmatique est une compétence communicative et conversationnelle, convoquant diverses habiletés. Les troubles pragmatiques découlent de certaines pathologies mais peuvent également être primaires. La plupart des outils évaluant les capacités pragmatiques sont en anglais et testent la pragmatique non verbale. En outre, l'évaluation de la pragmatique est complexe en raison même de la nature de cette compétence ; nécessitant une prise en compte de la situation de communication, ce type d'évaluation doit s'effectuer dans des conditions naturelles de communication et ne peut donc pas échapper à une part de subjectivité. Une grille d'observation a été construite à partir de ces hypothèses: une échelle construite sous la forme d'un questionnaire et complétée par trois observateurs connaissant bien l'enfant, diminuerait la subjectivité inhérente à l'évaluation de la pragmatique ; une échelle fondée sur l'ensemble des capacités recensées dans la littérature permettrait une évaluation riche et complète ; une observation non restreinte à des épreuves et à une limite de temps, ciblant des habiletés pragmatiques verbales spécifiques, autoriserait une évaluation fine et adaptée à la pragmatique. La grille construite, remplie par neuf personnes évaluant son contenu et sa faisabilité, a été soumise à l'essai à travers la réalisation de trois études de cas. Les résultats recueillis suggèrent que malgré l'analyse qualitative longue, la présence de certains items complexes pour les parents et de certains comportements difficiles à évaluer, l'échelle construite comporte les avantages suivants : une cotation rapide et une majorité d'items bien formulés et pertinents. En outre, l'outil serait intéressant et utile pour la pratique orthophonique.

L'objectif de ce mémoire est la création et la pré-validation d'une épreuve d'évaluation des habiletés pragmatiques cognitives et discursives en compréhension. Cette épreuve s'inscrit dans le cadre d'une batterie informatisée d'évaluation du langage et des fonctions cognitives, pour des sujets âgés de 11 à 15 ans. A travers cette étude, nous tentons d'apprécier l'intérêt d'une évaluation de la pragmatique auprès des adolescents présentant des troubles spécifiques des apprentissages. Notre hypothèse principale est que ces sujets peuvent présenter un déficit langagier global avec notamment des troubles de compréhension, incluant un déficit des habiletés pragmatiques. L'épreuve comprend 11 subtests évaluant diverses compétences pragmatiques s'appuyant sur le traitement de l'information, la génération d'inférences, la coordination de plusieurs sources d'information et la compréhension des actes indirects de langage.

La compétence pragmatique est définie comme la capacité d'un individu à effectuer des choix contextuellement appropriés de contenu, de forme et de fonction. D'après Tomasello, Mannle et Barton (1989), la situation gémellaire pourrait favoriser l'émergence des compétences pragmatiques. L'objectif de notre travail est d'étudier les habiletés communicatives des enfants jumeaux monozygotes de six à sept ans. Pour cela, cinq couples d'enfants jumeaux monozygotes ont été mis en situation de communication et observés à travers deux voies de recherche : une analyse conversationnelle et un test d'évaluation des habiletés pragmatiques étalonné. L'analyse des résultats a révélé que les enfants jumeaux monozygotes de notre étude ont des compétences pragmatiques correctes : ils maîtrisent les règles de l'interaction et ils sont informatifs.
